How do we pick up the pieces and prevent chaos in the aftermath?

After the virus will have infected most of the world's population, people will be seeking to get back to work. However, much of the infrastructure of the economy will have completely crumbled. There is going to be a huge power struggle both internationally and nationally. Many countries, including ours, will risk political instability. Crime should skyrocket. The situation will be ripe for an authoritarian government to seize control, and there will be strong incentives for war due to the weekened states of many nations. It will be a race to recover quickly, and whoever gets there first will seek to gain more control globally.

This is a desperate time. But of course, tyrants always seize power in desperate times. The people should be vigilant and ready to overthrow the government if the power isn't released after this virus blows over.

Well unlike WW2 infrastructure will still be intact. We're talking about weeks/months here not years. That is unless we stay locked down longer/more than we should and do unnecessary damage to our country.

Saving a few thousand lives isn't worth destroying the economy for years good luck making the argument to the US population though which is something our leaders won't do no matter who is president so we're going to continue to overreact and continue to harm ourselves.
