You got a lot of tactical and should add some practical.

I'd add a nicely scoped hunter/sniper rifle (30-06 or .308) and a Ruger 10/22 for economical small game hunting

Lots of guns

What kind of actual fire suppression do you have on the property? talking fire extinguishers if people try to burn you out.
I assume you have motion sensored lighting

Amerex brand ABC type extinguishers:
Three 10 lbs
One 6 lbs
Four 5 lbs
Two 2.5 lbs

Why have motion sense lighting when you can have always on lighting?

shopping for my first gun that isn't a pistol.

Was thinking about buying a shortie 12ga this summer, but for rifles what would you suggest, generally speaking? I'm seeing a lot of AR15's and AK47s for sale where i live and was leaning toward one of those due to lack of firearm knowledge. I live in Idaho so it's easy to get guns out here

I want something i can shoot from ~150 years and aside from that all i want is a a light acog and a flashlight on the gun. Something simple but capable of modifying

Your mp5 reaches out to 150 meters easy. And sticking to mp5 or mpxk makes ammo comparability with your pistols.

Multiple motion sensors that chime in the house when something with a heat signature passes by and tells me which sensor, along with full home alarm.

Not worried.

And you would probably be even more irate if I posted full collection, this is just what I keep loaded for defense

I'm saying I'll probably never buy an AR15 because while I'm an expert on the weapon I can't see it doing me any practical good in a real world application.

Yes you can use it in house as a PDW but it wouldn't be my first choice.

First choice would be MPXk.

But I haven't been able to justify spending any money on a firearm. I think about one from time to time.

If things were to get bad enough Corona wise I've got weapons I can borrow.

My point with the MP5 out to 150 is that

A. I want a one trick pony ( don't like AR for that)

B. Even if I was going to spend on more than 1 weapon again probably mpxk and either a glk26 or p365.

Because for me application and budget matter.

C. I really don't think a person could win a self defense case at 100 meters plus.

I honestly think above 40 meters you could catch a charge.

I dismiss it because it's going thru every wall and I don't need something effective out to 400m.

I dismiss it because I can't transport it inside the passenger compartment of my car in NC.

I dismiss it because it's going thru every wall in my house. Now sure if the bad guy is hiding behind a fridge I can shoot him thru it but inside the house. Inside a car MPXk is better.
