It's definitely growing OP.

Look, you're my best friend, so don't take this the wrong way but, in 20 years if you're still here postin' in hhhnnnggg threads, beggin' for mod reps, and braggin' about whales you harpooned from POF, I'll f'in kill ya. That's not a threat, that's a fact, I'll f'in kill ya. You got somethin' none of us have, and you don't owe it to yourself man, you owe it to me. Cuz tomorrow I'm gonna wake up and I'll be red, and I'll still be a socially awkward/FA. And that's all right.

Atleast America is doing it right. We're at 4 new cases a day nation wide and they still aren't loosening any restrictions. Empty hospitals are being wasted. The govs only plan on slowly spreading virus is by convincing parents it's ok for kids to go to schools (lmao they are saying that there's no risk in doing this which makes ZERO SENSE). Slowly letting kids get it to take back to their families. We have like 7000 ICU beds or something and less than 100 are being used.

Let's disregard for a moment that people without comorbidities are dying, and that if enough "young" people are out and about, the medical system will still get overwhelmed. We have NO idea what the long-term sequelae are, how can you be so confident that there will be no issues down the line for people who survive initial infection? Even if you're only concerned with self-preservation, surely that fact should trouble you?
SARS was a lot more severe, but Covid-19 comes from the same family of viruses. One study I was skimming suggests that 24% of people who were infected with SARS had persistently reduced lung function and exercise capacity even a year after being infected. Strangely, the lung function was equally reduced in people who DID and DID NOT require intubation, i.e how bad your symptoms were didn't predict your lung function a year later. If this is true of Covid-19, we could be chilling at home with mild symptoms and still find ourselves with the same long-term health issues as someone who was hospitalized and intubated because of Covid-19 infection.
I don't mean to fear-monger, and we don't know yet if such long term issues exist, but it might be wise to think about this sort of stuff as well.

Found out my coworker died last week from covid 19 while WFH, no idea how he got it, unless maybe going out for groceries or something. He was about 50, married with two kids that aren’t teenagers yet. We managed to raise 6k for his family just today alone.
Another work friend (35 y/o) lost his dad recently.
Third guy that’s on my project that I talk to every day, had 3 family members die and we sent him flowers.
Statistics are one thing, but knowing the people personally is totally different.

The quarantine solves nothing. Our hospitals are at a low point traffic wise.

yeah, if there was nation wide antibody test, i think wed see the scope of this thing of how many ppl truly had it and realize the death rate of it is below 0.5%. definitely worse than flu, but not as bad as the "experts" hyped it up to be.
fact is, we cant stay locked in forever. people want to stay locked up til a vaccine, yall know they never found a vaccine for sars right?

It IS greatly more contagious, but not deadly enough to overwhelm our hospitals like previously thought. We're sensationally hanging onto quarantine for no benefit. We could open everything up tomorrow and see no change in the ultimate result of this.

The crazy thing is people are talking about getting a vaccine but do you really think everyone will get it? I see people talking about how they are afraid of this vaccine. Secondly, everyone says this is more contagious than the flu right? Well the flu still exists and kills people every year with a vaccine, so why would this be any different? Point is this is never going to go away.
Also I hear about businesses needing "liability insurance" so people dont sue them for getting covid...how could anyone prove they got the virus from a store or hotel? And lastly it makes no sense to me that the government deems crowded supermarkets safe but not a Bass pro or a Macys? weird.
The way I look at it the faster everyone gets it and builds immunity the better
