They have already likely exceeded the amount in property damages and stolen loot over the past week alone.

Factor in All of the welfare and social benefits they have disproportionately got over the years only for it to be completely wasted. America and the West has been giving out reparations forever.

Slavery, Jim Crow, burning down Black Wall Street, the several genocides of blacks, killing MLK, Killing Malcom X. Nothing but pain and suffering. Affirmative Action and EOE were put in place to cover up the actual issues aka black empowerment

No. Both sides of my family didn't come here until after 1900 and didn't have anything to do with slavery. But if you can identify every person directly descended from slaves and slave owners, then take it up in the court system.

not even just morally stupid but also logistically. you would have to DNA test every single white and black person in this country and then have to trace shoddy historical records to find out who are all direct descendants of slaves and slave owners. Then youd have to filter in black and native american slave owners whose descendants would also now have to pay up.

it a ludicrous idea that i sincerely cant believe anyone even takes remotely seriously. the only thing i can think of is that politicians use the idea to bait black voters

Not my issue, not anything that I caused. My ancestors came to this country like late 1800s/early 1900s. No wealth to pass on. I'm in the same boat as you. So no I'm not going to agree with you getting free money just because of the color of your skin

What about black people who moved here within the last 20 years from other countries? Would you include them in the reparations?

I didn't say it was your issue. FYI even if you were poor, you still came to a predominantly white country who has full control. If your ancestors were black they would've been forced to deal with racism, lack of education, Jim Crow Laws, and genocide. Yes there was genocide where whites went into black neighborhoods killing and burning businesses, homes, churches, etc.

And as far as your argument of putting it on the tax payers(which I don't agree with), well think about it,

Your tax dollars are going to Israel, useless wars, 3rd world countries, the failed drug war. Wouldn't you rather your tax dollars atleast going to fellow Americans making us all better(Blacks,poor, infrastructure)? What exactly is wrong with that? It would probably benefit you in the long run. Because on the contrary you practically see none of the money that leaves your check.

And that’s why we’ve let certain demographics milk the system disproportionately. Everything from job hiring to college admissions has been catered to these “underprivileged“ groups. Supplying financial aid is a bandaid. It’s a handicap that doesn’t help in the long term and we’ve seen it 100x over. Stop focusing on the fighting the symptoms and focus on fighting the cause.
