Real world I'm looking at $125 for Herod 75 ml and $222 for 100 ml of the Roja. I can swallow those prices for the most part.

I'd pay 220 for Herod. I'm not sure a vanilla coke smell is better than Herod though but I'll never make a definitive claim on something I never tried.

I remember Code Profumo has a coke/root beer feel to it. Is enigma close?

More tonka in Code Profumo for sweetness. I think more vanilla in the Roja Enigma. both have that Coke vibe off the top. I think there was another fragrance that was like Dr Pepper or Coke too.


Will, Herod is Top 10 tier for me.

Thanks for the info. And yeah there's a DNA in Parfums de Marly that rubs Will the wrong way but I absolutely love Herod and Layton. I feel like they do everything. Some niche might smell really high quality but they don't last long. Some niche may smell really unique but then normal people think you smell like ass. With Herod, I get amazing performance, a quality that's certainly higher than average designers, a good amount of uniqueless and yet normies who smell it would love the smell as well. That's my personal preference when it comes to niche fragrances.

OH right. Yeah I rarely hear about that one. Will try.

Brahs I'm constantly bored of la nuit now. People say the drydown is where this shines but I much prefer the first 45 mins. After that it just loses the richness and strength quickly. It's so weak. This is the second time in a row I've worn it but felt like I could have put on something else instead.

Sote: Joop What About Adam

It's a sweet, minty garden with a prominent tomato leaf note. Quite unique for a designer and smells of surprisingly good quality for the price this went for. It's long discontinued though.

Royal Mayfair is underrated in my opinion.

The more I use Silver Mountain Water the more I like it.

Dude I was so disappointed by Aventus but it's still a more mass pleasing scent than Mayfair. Mayfair surprised me, it's understated but actually really pleasant. I just have so many of those simple crisp types of scents at this point so granted CDNIM didn't exist, I'd rather a full bottle of Aventus over Royal Mayfair. That's how i ranked them.

Frag game is funny. Most people get pulled in by a Creed or Tom Ford offering, spiral down a rabbithole searching for exotic chit then come back around full circle to something that just smells nice. At least that's how it was for me with Roja Aoud and Amber Cologne. Sounds like you're getting that with Silver Mountain Water, not knocking your socks off for innovation but just gets the job done while being enjoyable to wear.

Viking was the biggest flop ever. I would light a candle and pour a glass of wine at night as I read the CreedMaximalists coping about blind buying Viking on its release date for $450. Knew damn well they'd rather rock spicebomb lol *******s. Good times.

Yeah, after owning Aventus I don't really get the hype. CDNIM is a much better option.

I just love that Gin note in Mayfair. Hnnnnng

I wear SMW more for me than others. I just really like the scent. Have ever since I got a few samples of Creed. Aventus was okay and I get the mass appeal, but I have 2 bottles of CDNIM(amazon accidentally shipped 2, said I could keep it), so it doesn’t seem necessary. I did get my first compliment on it when I wore it last 2 weeks ago.

I remember liking virgin island water as my second from the samples I had, not sure I could justify a full bottle ATM as
I have other things coming up I need to focus my discretionary income on.

SOTD: BdC EDT(trying to finish my bottle, it’s almost empty, then I can get started on my EDP)

We have a new addition to personal Top 5 GOAT list(I think...).

I absolutely LOVE this stuff. I dont even know how to accurately describe it.

It's powdery without smelling feminine.
It's musky without smelling stanky.
It's fresh without smelling like shower gel.
It's metallic without being sharp.
I swear there's citrus but not orange or lemon.

Absolutely gorgeous and I got the partial for a steal from a dude on FGN.


edit: Someone on basenotes or fragrantica put it perfectly, basically he said if scent were a color Stairway to Heaven would be the brightest white imaginable.
