Well we tried to kneel peacefully during the national anthem and got told to shut and were ignored.

Eventually, more extreme means will be taken to get voices heard, if that is the only way. If you expect anything else you're in for a rude awakening.

I just proved to you that is the case. White men abolished slavery. No one else.

And obviously many more white men wanted to abolished slavery than those who didn't.

Because here we are. Never forget that.

Just because the north won the war, doesnt necessarily mean white public opinion was majority in favor. The rampant racism and lack of rights that followed seems to suggested many were at best barely on board

I'm not trying to discredit an entire study here because it might as well be right, but how do you know most of this stuff is about race?

What are the races of the people checking the resumes?

Were the "whitened" test resumes completely equal minus the racial details?

How can you conclude it's racial discrimination and not class discrimination?

Did they try sending "whitened" resumes with white trash names?

Pretty flawed study if you ask me

Here let me spell it out for you.

BLM riots burn **** down.

The public goes "Huh. BLACK Lives Matter is rioting, looting, and burning our businesses to the ground. Fuk black people I guess."

That's what is going to happen. I'm not saying there is a race war at the moment, I'm saying there will be if the riots don't stop.

And no, you don't have to be a racist to hate BLM. But that doesn't mean BLM isn't going to create more racists, because it so obviously is.

The races of the people checking the resumes are, on balance, white, because white people make up the majority of hiring/HR/everyone across corporations in the USA. Unless you want to claim all these corporations have minority workforces, which we know is false as a whole. On average, its white people making these choices.

Whitened resumes were the exact same qualifications, but with less ethnic names or fewer details that point to race(black student union) for example.

You can conclude its racial discrimination because there is no indication of class anywhere on the resume.

White trash names are not the equivalent of normal black or asian names.

The existence of other forms of discrimination isnt a real argument against the push for racial justice. that's just deflection.

And nobody wants equality of outcome, its about equality treatment and opportunity

No, you can only assume it's racial discrimination because names among other things can indicate class depending on the point of view of the person doing the hiring

Examples:

- Resume of white woman named Kaylynn vs resume of white woman named Sarah

- Resume of black man named Dashawn vs resume of black man named Kevin

These are both examples of class, not race differences

Here's an example of an actual name that was used" "Jamal Banks".

That is not some ghetto name. Its a normal black name. If a normal black name is somehow determined to be low class, thats part of the racial bias that assumes black is low class.

Yeah it's a normal black name, but so is Michael. The study is simply assuming that the HR guy thought like this:

Jamal = black = bad

When he could have just as well been thinking like this:

Jamal = low class name = bad

I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just saying the study is not definitive proof of racial bias

i thought one issue was that it's so obvious that you're oppressed and mistreated - what you cry a lot. this is also due to whities and slavery long ago

but then you're turning around and crying about that exact attention by saying your name is misjudged on resumes.

sooo.. if the first is true, wouldn't that make the latter true? wouldn't they associate "black name" with poor since that's so blatantly obvious

seems like a contradiction

You will never get equality of outcomes when there is equal treatment under the law in a free society. There is a natural tiering of people by many factors, a large quantity of which are outside of their control. Things like intelligence, inherited wealth, national origin. This is the natural order of things. Nothing good comes from trying to fight against it.

The great thing about a free society is how much is within the control of the individual. The more feeble are reduced to playing the role of the victim and pleading for special treatment because it "isn't fair"

Dont understand what you're saying here.

I don't think most racism is blatantly obvious or in the open in 2020. Its more Amy Cooper's than Klan members.

While no doubt it's right wing on here and there's some racism most of the stuff on here is simply disagreeing with the common media narrative but not openly racist or hostile to other races unless when done tongue in cheek for a joke and yes you can make a joke about a minority and it isn't automatically racist.

I'm obviously of Chinese descent from my avi pic and I'm a liberal to boot if the misc was truly racist you'd think I'd have been racially abused on here by now, but it's never happened even though I disagree with much of the views posted on here. Just last week on another forum which is far less right in terms of the political demographic I was told to go back to my own country and told that wasn't a racist term lol.

I'd say the misc is racially insensitive but not truly racist.

Theres absolutely no reason to say Wang is lower class than Kevin though, because asians have no association with low class whatsoever.

The racism is pretty much exactly the same. Maybe it catches your eye more often because the board has become a lot slower and more barren. So when shet hits the fan, the angry and more polarizing comments stand out more.

It's kind of a hot topic right now though so I guess some people are pushed over the edge in a way.

There are always racist people, it's the internet. Ignore em, put em on blast, who cares? Do whatever the fuk you wanna do.
