Why would they pull a gun out in that situation? Yea they're trash and probably harassing them. Just get in your car and laugh on your way home.

Why do people overreact so much? No composure. The protection from the gun is knowing you have one in case of a last resort scenario. You should be calm and focused knowing you have it.

This entire situation is a complete chit show of people.

Apprently, the police aren't happy with having the entire left wing wanting them dead. Now, they want to deliberately ignore left wing violence, go after good people defending themselves form said violence, and make enemies of the entire country. Nice. I'm sure that will turn out great for them.

Yes, they did some dumb chit with their weapons, but for the police to ignore the elephant in the room and focus on infinitesimally minuscule (and largely justified) crime has made my sympathy for them run low.

This wasn't that one. This is the one where Karen bumped into a 15-year-old and apparently started cursing and screaming when she was asked to apologize, then they wouldn't let it go and she ended up pulling a gun instead of driving away. Turned out to be a cop's wife and daughters she drew on.

I gave her the benefit of the doubt about how it started, but people found other social media posts about prior outbursts screaming abuse at people over nothing in other settings.

Not how it went down. The rachet lady and her kid weren't social distancing and tried to enter at the same time the couple were exiting. The lady and the kid bumped. The rachet lady copped an attitude and yelled "excuse you?!" at the lady, then words were exchanged. Rachet lady and daughter followed couple to car and escalated the situation with racial epithets and threats of violence. Shown on the full video. Couple tried to leave and lady's daughter situated herself behind the car, then smashed her fist into the car. It was at that point the lady got out of the car and drew her gun, fearing that the rachet lady and her daughter were hell bent on escalating the situation to physical violence.

She acted in a way that is consistent with a reasonable person's understanding of her right to defend herself.

- she was trying to deescalate the situation and the other two were being very hostile
- she actually DID try to leave but the lady smacked her car and accused them of hitting her
- I’m assuming they stopped because they didnt know if they had the chance to leave or not without actually hitting someone. The smack confirmed contact was made.
- One of the ladies shouted “ILL BEAT YO FUKIN ASS” as both of them RUSHED HER CAR
- Karen comes out and says “get the FUK away from me” and pulls out her gun

The misc is looking at this in hindsight... but Karen probably didn’t know if the other lady was actually hit or not and didn’t want to run. Either way they rushed her car after threatening to beat her ass and she pulled out her weapon.

Edit: also they lady that claim to have gotten hit by the vehicle had plenty of room to move elsewhere.... which strongly suggests she purposefully got in that position for that to be setup. If you see a vehicle backing up, why move towards it? Even if she was standing there before the vehicle even started moving (which doesn’t seem to be the case), why stay there? She provoked that scene.

?Please link the video that shows the bolded. The "full video" I saw only picks up earlier at the side of the car. I'd love to see how this really started. The family's narrative has been that she said "excuse you" and the mother insisted on an apology, and that Karen went ballistic, "cussing me out". This is consistent with the paper trail of her described behavior during another public incident that was documented online last year so I'm taking it at face value at this point.

I agree with you 100% that the other family wouldn't let it go and did hear the verbal threat toward the husband, but "not letting it go" goes both ways. That threatening remark is going to be Karen's only saving grace for a plausible justification argument if this goes to trial. Pulling a gun because somebody slapped your car isn't going to fly anywhere that I'm familiar with, and MI statute appears to read that all assaults with a firearm are an automatic felony.

My first read on this was that she was at least arguably justified, but as I got further into the facts, it's gotten progressively less favorable for her. If she's smart, she'll take a plea deal so she doesn't risk a felony conviction.

Saw the whole video and the two girls in the video are ghetto trash started the whole thing while the white couple tried to deescalate the situation and even apologized. They do not deserve to go jail was in the right. The guy was even fired from his job. So wrong in my opinion this world is becoming soft as hell and it’s sickening

Seems like the mom is in the parking lot kinda behind the Van, van backs up all the way to the mom...the mom hits the van..camera person runs to the van, karen jumps out of van...meanwhile, the van had a lot of room to drive forward.

The mom says shes going to beat her ass,when she hits the van that was backing into her...not when tkaren is out of the vehicle.

They have may been trashy and karen may have tried to deescalate but non of that matters, what matters is what happened and waht led up to the gun getting pulled.

Instead of leaving, they voluntarily enter an escalated situation..since now the mom was nearly hit and angry.
She pulled out gun and fukt up her and her husbands lives bc an old lady slapped her vehicle...fkn lol. You have a weak case for self defense if you say you feared for your life when you voluntarily exited your vehicle and confronted a hostile situation instead of staying in your vehicle and leaving.
