Masks and respirators do not work. There have been extensive randomized controlled trial (RCT) studies, and meta-analysis reviews of RCT studies, which all show that masks and respirators do not work to prevent respiratory influenza-like illnesses, or respiratory illnesses believed to be transmitted by droplets and aerosol particles.

Furthermore, the relevant known physics and biology, which I review, are such that masks and respirators should not work. It would be a paradox if masks and respirators worked, given what we know about viral respiratory diseases: The main transmission path is long-residence-time aerosol particles (< 2.5 μm), which are too fine to be blocked, and the minimum-infective-dose is smaller than one aerosol particle.

The present paper about masks illustrates the degree to which governments, the mainstream media, and institutional propagandists can decide to operate in a science vacuum, or select only incomplete science that serves their interests. Such recklessness is also certainly the case with the current global lockdown of over 1 billion people, an unprecedented experiment in medical and political history.

Yeah no ****. It’s not to prevent you from getting it, it’s to prevent you from spreading it. Do you think doctors and nurses wash their hands, wear gloves and masks to protect THEMSELVES from the patient in the operating room?

I am not for the lockdowns but this is not rocket science
https://www.fast.ai/2020/06/26/particle-sizes/

The virus is contained in droplets and a mask stops a high % of droplets from free floating in the air.

I would also like to add this tweet here as well. WHO has seemed to make a 180 here.

Cliffs:

- Asymptomatic people are not a threat at all for spreading coronavirus
- Symptomatic people are the ones we should really worry about

So really it kind of begs the question of what is the point of wearing masks if you are an asymptomatic individual? If you are symptomatic you should be staying at home anyways rather than going out in public even if you have a mask. That's what the mask is mainly designed for.

The idea of the larger droplets caused by a sneeze or even a cough, won't make it far, and won't make it far if "ingested", it's the microscopic individual viruses that go airborne which will bypass a mask worn by the infected, then ingested deep into the lungs.

Overall there is a compliance movement. Started by requiring you to buy healthcare, now requiring you to take steps for others. What's next?

How much more spread is there between the two situations? How much more suspension?

It still doesn't change the fact that the pores on a cloth mask are bigger than the covid particles themselves so even if you get the mucus on you and the cloth stops that, the actual particles will seep through.

Gas station Sheetz in Pennsylvania has the right way to do this. It says on the door that we would prefer you wear a mask but if you do not then we assume it is because you have a medical condition. About 90% usually are wearing them in the store.
That is good enough. Turning this into some kind of political statement on either side is the height of being a retard.

lol Just go back 6 months and wearing masks was just something weird that asians did. Even our Chief of Public Health was going on asian TV telling them not to wander around just because they had masks because the mask don't work. Now 6 months later they are mandating masks in some outdoor places.

Yes, so you wash your cloth mask daily, or rotate multiple and wash them in a batch. or use a disposable one. It seeps through to the exterior but doesn't coat everything in your surroundings as you breathe.

You really think people are washing their masks after each use? I can bet that 95% of people don't they just pop it on, do their stuff and take it off.

Asymptomatic =\= pre-symptomatic. I don’t know why that concept is so hard for you people to understand. There have been a half dozen publications at minimum which show a huge portion of transmission occurs before symptoms. We’re talking ~40%.

The WHO in a rare time they told the truth said that the chances of an asymp spreading the disease to someone is rare but naturally they walked it back.

Except 99% of the population use:

- cloth masks which do nothing
-reuse masks, which cause spread

define "work".

purpose of masks is to SLOW DOWN viral load.

And by looking at lower # of cases in nyc, canada, uk, italy, seems to work well.

Look at areas where people don't gaf like southern states, cali, mexico, brazil, etc. caseds skyrocketing.
