for some things sure. and i've got all the free time in the world now. sometimes if it needs to be fixed i call for embarrassingly easy things. not all the time, if its not important i just leave it lol and have the dude fix like a handful of stuff next time i need to call. got a few bathrooms for example and no one else here so if it's no big deal i just use another bathroom for example. even that is a little overboard tho i dont think thats ever happened. but small things like electric sockets that can be reset but i'm too retarded to do etc

I’m fukkin dying laughing at this holy fuk I know that feel all too well. I was way too late when it came to fps games and my college friends thought I was legit retarded, lol. I actually got better at it over the years but then lost interest. Used to just run all over the place like a chicken with my head cut off in Call of Duty.

God-given talents are easily detected at a young age (usually in elementary school, through both aptitude testing and discovery/practice)!! Skills are learned.

Anyone can improve upon ANY skill, per say, but if you don't have an innate talent in that domain, then you will only improve up until a certain point (excluding physical injury- one example).

Everyone has limitations, but advanced tech (for example) is unbelievable in helping to break down these previous boundaries/walls. That's why I hate this era. I was never a big fan of high-tech, ever. I hated it when it was first introduced. I'm too much of an "old soul," I guess.

As long as you love doing something, then don't worry about not having natural talent. It's more important to enjoy the activities you are doing and just accept your limitations.

Unless you want to be a top level professional, lack of talent will not stop you from being proficient in any domain as long as you study and practice enough.
I spent years learning to play the guitar and sucking hard. I couldn't say I had any talent but once I started putting in hours of practice I became good enough that, now, I look like a master to regular people.

I think that's true for things like running or painting. You can suck hard but still enjoy it. But with foreign languages there's a clear end goal which is to become fluent and if you don't achieve that then the whole exercise becomes sort of pointless (unless your goal was just to get by). Whereas with running or painting there is no clear cut end goal and those things can be enjoyed in themselves.

I also agree that even with a severe lack of talent most people can become proficient in pretty much anything. I guess I just don't have the persistence needed to push through the many plateaus. They frustrate the hell out of me, especially when I see things coming so naturally to others.

Music - tried drums and guitar, both for at least a year each, many many hours devoted to learning just how badly I sucked.

Art - I could fukk up a stick figure, srs.

Photography - this is kind of a mixed bag. I was very proficient (pro level) at the technical aspects (lens/shutter speed/aperture selection to get desired look, lighting, etc) and was good enough at talking to people and making them feel comfortable/have fun during a session. On the other hand I was absolute dogchit at posing/directing people and coming up with concepts for shoots so that killed any hope I once had of making a career of it.
