Fkn LOL @ SingleCELS.

Dementia risk leaps by 30% if you live alone in your 50s and 60s as isolation takes a much greater toll than previously thought, research says

-Study by University College London surveyed 21,666 people over the age of 55
-The authors warned that there is a growing number of elderly people living alone
-Loneliness, stress and lack of cognitive stimulation could all be factors in the rise

Partially agree, but anything to do with marriage is 100% societal disneyland bullchit. Having a partner you love and who loves you is great though. But also, finding that chemistry is difficult.

Some people genuinely prefer being alone. Also, people become widows and widowers. There are countless ways to get "cognitive stimulation", I have no clue why you would need to be married to get that. Also, stress? Being single = far less stress.

I can agree with this as a happily married guy, actually. I'd hate to have to go back to dating. When I was younger I dreaded the idea of hitting 40, and yet here I am - more healthy (mind, body and soul) than I have ever been, with plenty of cash flow to boot.

You're not entirely wrong - isolation/lack of social interaction is def bad for mental health/the brain, so I do think a lot of single brahs over 40 are coping.

Outside that though, just lol at your Disney fairy tale version of marriage.
