No he claimed one sold the engine to his truck. Sheriff didn't elaborate but it sounds like it most likely occurred long before that and was a incident the suspect should have filed a lawsuit for years ago.

Because that's the standard way to investigate crimes? The basic formula is to collect evidence to identify suspects, bring them in to be interviewed and get them to confess to the crime. Information is always withheld from the public so if their confession includes non-public info it's clear they actually committed the crime.
