Yes but the reverse is also true. Belief in a simulation is wish fulfillment for people who are unable for w/e reason to adopt a religion.

Video games of today are highly limited in creation and AI capacity. If you consider them as simulations I'd say they are really-REALLY early versions.

The fact that a chitty simulation and bad AI in it exists does not mean that it will be like that forever or it is the only simulation in our universe or universes in universes like those Russian decoration matrushkas.

Muslims believe Christians are evil and vice versa.

Exactly the reason I can't believe in a religion. Whenever I hear some Imam chittalking christiand and jews and glorifying islam I just now there is a rabbi/ priest out there saying exactly same chit word by word except religions are reversed. And that he'd be a hardcore jew, christian if he was born into such families.

When you look in the mirror what do you see?

Except that's not actually you. Well, that's your avatar, but notTHE REAL YOU

You don't know what you truly look like. You don't know what you actually are.

Yourbest guess is what's "outside" of you. But is what's outside of you truly outside of you, or does it come from within?

You're a walking paradox

Idk about a true simulation but the elites and social media are making life feel like one for sure

Most ppl are npcs and have been programmed by the elites and that is kind of scary to think about. Not a lot of free thinkers out there.

Personally think there is some master server hidden somewhere or in possession of some secret elite that controls outcomes of certain events which the elite are privy to and basically allows them to see the future before anyone else and position themselves in an advantageous manner

I’ve heard stories of computer rigs running market type programs found out in the middle of nowhere, like it could be connected to controlling the stock markets, for example. Except I think it’s way more advanced than this and has a direct outcome on world events

Our world is based on energy lay lines (think 33rd parallel), and it’s been shown things like obelisks and pyramids can tap into these planetary energy grids. Now consider that many of these structures were strategically build on certain coordinates in a coincidental fashion? Perhaps the reality can be controlled through harnessing the global energy

Maybe we are nothing more than cattle, nothing more than a food source for another alien species.

Think about it, we don't need fed, or someone to look after us.

We are the ultimate cattle.

The only question which remains is...

When is it harvest time?

Humans are working on intelligent AI now.
Assuming intelligent AI becomes a reality, it isn't dumb to assume we can then eventually have the power to run universe simulations.
If that is the case, we wouldn't just build one simulation, we would build many.
Therefore, it is unrealistic to assume we are living in the primary timeline in which simulations have not yet become a reality.
Instead, it is far more likely we are already in a universe simulation.

That is a fact but still this isn't really the type of simulation I was talking about. Your example is more metaphorical

Got me thinking. God could be the admin of our universe's simulation but he could be a research subject in another simulation completely.

If some people believe a bearded old man lives in the clouds and judges you, that his son rose from the dead and will somehow magically return some day, and that all life on earth began only 2000 years ago, than the concept of us living in a simulation is incredibly plausible.

Most likely we're just the first creatures on this planet that have cortexes as advanced as we do. But, we're version 1.0. We think about this schit too much and it's unfathomable to us that there's nothing out there to explain why we are, so we make schit up.

'most likely'

No evidence for this. A thought experiment isn't evidence (which is what simulation theory is)

Not saying it's not true, but saying it is 'most likely' true is a massive, massive stretch and is unscientific.

There's nothing wrong with discussing these kind of ideas, but claiming its 'most likely' when there is absolutely no evidence to support this is basically absolute horse chit and intellectually dishonest.

I've been thinking about this a lot. I guess suicide is just a quick way out of the simulation? People say you go to hell if you take your own life. But, how would they know truly since they're still here and alive? Did a spirit or ghost tell them that? I highly doubt it. Honestly, where do we go when we die? IMO when we die we leave the simulation and wake up from it and we start living in the REAL WORLD.

Yeah you don't understand simulation theory. I mean as i said above, it's unscientific, but the premise of the theory still matters otherwise it doesn't follow the logical thought pattern that makes simulation theory so attractive to people.

There's no 'waking up', the YOU in the simulation is the only you that exists. It's not like you're a human plugged into a simulation, the whole idea behind the theory is that your consciousness has beencreatedinside a simulation by an intelligent race. In fact, the most likely premise of simulation theory is that you are not in the top level simulation, because simulated societies would eventually become advanced enough to create a simulation themselves, then you end up with an open ended number of nested simulations.

When I was younger whenever I had a nightmare I jumped off from some tall structure to end it all. And worked everytime. Now I wake up the moment I realize it is a dream.

Still I wouldn't ever commit suicide just to wake up from the simulation. First it is pathetic and second there is a chance everything about me might end up under dirt.

There are some evidence actually. Whether they are actually irrefutable (unlike the link below suggests) proof of a simulation or just human psychology I can not know.

Simulations in simulations? Damn mind is blown.

Most likely a superior race is behind this. But, if we die in this simulation are we born into another kind of simulation and not this one?

That's not scientific, and it's just a pop article shoehorning anything it can find to fit simulation theory. Nothing that article states is evidence, certainly not strong enough to claim it's 'most likely'. When an article states things like 'weird news', 'no aliens' and 'we cant prove its not true" are 'irrefutable evidence' for simulation theory, you have to be honest with yourself about the quality and limitations of the article,.. honestly i'm embarrassed for you that you posted this and cited it as evidence. Show me somethingscientific(HINT: I've studied this theory extensively; there's none)

MIGHT be living in a simulation as the article states is a much more accurate way to word it though. 'Most likely' is plain wrong.

And again, my point is going completely over your head.. i never claimed it was impossible for us to eventually build simulations, nor am i stating the theory isn't possible.. lots of things are possible, it doesn't mean that that they are all true, i'm refuting the fact you said its 'most likely' and when NO evidence. Just because it might be possible that we could build these kinds of simulations, doesn't mean we are in a simulation... this is nothing more than a strawman argument. Again, i have no issue with discussing the possibilities and i find this kind of discussion fun and (somewhat) mentally stimulating, the only thing i take issue with is your statement that it's 'most likely'.. it's just wrong.

People who don't have a proper grasp of science seem to misunderstand this theory as "we are almost certainly living in a simulation", when the theory is actually "we might be living in a simulation"

Well simulation theory is a thought experiment that relies on a number of assumptions to be true. (You can google them and find what they are).

Basically, if you believe these assumptions and buy into the theory, it leads to the conclusion that we're almost certainly in a nested simulation rather than the 'top level' simulation

I can't answer the rest because it would just be guess work, simulation theory doesn't go into those kinds of specifics with regards to reincarnation.

If you're interested this video gives a nice high level overview of the theory:

It's really not much different from believing in God.. in fact it requires almost the exact same belief structure (i.e 'faith' because we can't prove something doesn't exist)
