It's like every fuking night no matter what I do during the day, I literally need to pop a benadryl (sometimes 1 1/2) just to hopefully get to sleep by midnight..

I wake up and run 5 days a week in the am, go work, leave work then lift before chilling at home.

If I don't pop a benny by 9pm, there's a 90% chance I won't be asleep before midnight. Just cant seem to relax my mind.

Sex and meditation do absolutely nothing for it either. I've been using benadryl almost every night for the past year and a half srs. Sometimes a Truly helps knock me out a little quicker.

What gives?

Funny thing is, I could literally pass out within seconds after coming home from work because I'm THAT tired. But if I fight the urge and go lift instead, I'll be up all night. On the other hand, if I take a nap right after getting home I'll wake up at fuking 8pm and then be up until 3am.

I've been taking 5mg of ****** and .5mg Melatonin every night for the last couple years now, and it's the best decision I've ever done.

I should have started doing it 5 years ago, as I wouldn't have always been irritable from getting crappy sleep. Take my pills and like 30 minutes later I'm fighting to stay awake. Wake up refreshed and ready to fuk bitches and get money.

I take ZMA and half a Kirkland sleep pill to stay asleep most of the night. It was recommended by someone here in a sleep thread a while ago and it's been helping me. I don't have much problem falling asleep, it's the staying asleep that is my issue.

Some nights I feel like I need to. Last night I couldn't sleep until 4AM. But I found some GABA pills recently I bought a while back, they're no sedative but I had two and felt relaxed. It may have been the placebo effect but when it comes to that I prefer to remain blissfully unaware

Try ZMA to see if it helps. Or melatonin. Back in my 20's I was having horrible issues with sleeping and took melatonin for a month and it straightened it out. Now melatonin doesn't help me at all and actually almost makes my sleep worse. But it's worth a try.

Did you happen to take a second to consider that maybe there's a reason I started taking it in the first place?

Can't do melatonin. Knocks me out just fine, but I wake up the next day hungover like a mf. It's really bad. Made me sleep through alarms and wake up hours later not even remembering them.

Don't use a phone 2 hours before bed. Try to meditate or read before falling asleep.

Also only use your room for sex/sleep, no tv or anything else.

Also also, only way i can truly pass out is doing springs or a intensive workout that really exhausts me, otherwise I'm awake with my thoughts for a while before bed. sucks but that's how i'm wired

Nope. I gave up caffeine and sleep like a GOD now. Mix that with exercise daily and I'm out like a light when I finally lay down at night.

Also try reading. Reading use to put me to sleep in 10 min.

Try going a few nights without doing that, it may take a while but its better than a benadryl addiction.

I promise you this is where a huge chunk of your problem is coming from. I've also had insomnia issues, and know how much it sucks.

Benadryl, Unisom, or any sleep aid with the exception of melatonin not only will stop being effective after awhile - it will start having the OPPOSITE effect. When I was having my insomnia problems, I started taking unisom more often. Then I started taking 3-4 unisom a night, and staying awake the whole time. Again, not only will the pills stop helping you, they'll actually start HURTING your ability to fall asleep and stay asleep.

Human bodies are phucking weird, and sleep is one of the weirdest components of it.

Yeah, that's what melatonin does to me now. But ZMA helps me and it's just zinc, magnesium and Vit B6.
