True story: years back i worked for a company that shared most of the building with Northrop. The office building had a cafeteria on the first floor and I went down for lunch one day in early February to see “Celebrate Black History Month!” on the top of the menu. It’s real. It was KFC Trinidad & Tobago, so I’d imagine their branding might be slightly different than in the US

So I live in Trinidad, and KFC is huge here. If this ad was posted a year ago, literally nobody would care. We have almost no white folks living here and our history isn't the same as yours. While there was backlash for the ad, quite a number of people were fine with it.

The problem, sad to say is that lots of folks here have joined in on the outrage culture started by the USA and suddenly folks are making it their fight even though no race is oppressed by another here. Literally a bunch of brainless sheepcels following the trend.

Not really seeing why people are outraged. I read lots of replies about black people and chicken, but it is KFC, if they were going to make a BLM statement then what are they supposed to show? Mashed potatoes? Green beans? It's a freaking chicken restaurant.

Bruh. The funny thing is we have a really chilled culture here. And we love to have a laugh. We have a beer company posting literally the same image but with their green beer bottle and a green fist. Nobody said a word. People are just mad at the chicken imagery, but it's a fried chicken company, the fuk do you want them to post? Most of the outrage didn't even come from the people here lol.
