I'm not against giving flowers to women as gifts, but every week? Lol, that's excessive, and I guarantee you she stopped actually caring about the fact that you do it within the first two months. After that, she's mostly just acted like she likes it as much as when you first started doing it just to make you feel good. Meanwhile, she's secretly thinking you're being an unoriginal and corny geek when you do it now, for the most part.

As for the chocolates anytime it's "that time of the month for her", again - it's a corny gift, and being given far too frequently. Doing literally anything with too much frequency makes it lose value. Then you double down with that flawed concept by making crap like flowers and chocolates your go-to gift items to her on a regular basis. No offense, but you sound like one of those guys who talks about actively enjoying crappy romance films like The Notebook rather than simply sitting through them with your gf/wife to make her happy the same way she'll sit through crap you like for your sake.

You need to mix it up more and quit making gift buying such a standard staple of your love life with her. You'd be better off saving 95% of that ridiculous flowers ane chocolates budget of yours and using it to share some extra actual experiences with her, srs.

3 years is still pretty early on in terms of legit long-term relationships, even if you do live with her. Chit doesn't start getting real until you've either been together longer than that, and/or start taking the big leaps like getting married and having kids with them. Get back to me after you've been *married* to her for a few years too, and how things are if you have kids with her. You'll eventually end up learning the hard way that corny ritualistic gifts aren't gonna sustain that relationship if you don't figure it out before then. The corny gifts are fine; the problem is you're doing it far too often, to the point where you seem uncreative and boring about it. She's eventually gonna get bored of it too.

I'm not espousing incel ideas. I'm just being realistic. Things like romance and even marriages can be great things under the right circumstances. Having said that, to actually make them work and able to last extreme amounts of time like 10 - 40 years, they require actual work and commitment from both parties. People who try to trivialize it and dumb the concepts of long term relationships/marriage down to the type of crap displayed in romcom movies gives people some seriously warped expectations of what long term romantic love is really all about. I would argue that the unrealistic expectations people have about it like it's supposed to be one big fairytale conrtibutes to a lot of failed marriages/long term relationships.


Also, it amuses me when some of these miscers like to act like being with a woman for a few years is some big deal and makes *them* the relationship experts. If you haven't been married and/or had kids and are in a relationship under 5 years, you're likely still going to have some aspects of the honeymoon phase lingering on that give you rose tinted glasses about things. Because in situations like that, most relationships haven't even had the time/opportunities to experience actual difficult situations beyond mostly petty bs.
