They aren't part of the EU or generally considered to be European, but on the other hand they are part of eu customs union and join in things like the euro song contest etc. They were also one of the founding members of the Council of Europe.

Purely from a geographical perspective they are mostly in Asia, but also partly in southeastern europe

Turkey is European,
The people aren't.
Don't you think it's weird that some accounts average over 200 reps per day, every single day, for years on end?

Geographically they are not except a small portion that somehow they manage to keep.

Culturally they hardly are especially in the eastern part while those from the western part are not that different from many southern italians given that they behave the same when free from enforced rules.

Ethnically again mostly are not while some may even pass for central europeans.

In my opinion many western middle class turkish from the western areas could fit in Europe with no problems, cant really tell the same about lower classes or those from the east given their strong religious beliefs especially.

So would I consider them europeans? some of them yes but many not.

I think in depends.
Ancient Greece kinda started in modern Turkey(Miletus) with guys like Anaximander and Thales. Konstantinople was a center of European culture until it got taken by muslims. The Osmanian empire ruled a lot of now European states as well.

Turkey in many ways has always been the gate beetween middle eastern and European culture. In the late 90s and early 2000s it leaned more to the European side and Western values and was a pretty secular state, but since that conservative dickhead Erdogan assumed office, they have become more and more of an Islamic Republic.
When I was a child, I always liked the idea of Turkey one day becoming part of the EU after fixing their problems, but Erdogan's Turkey does not fit with Western values.

All I know is that I wanna go to Istanbul for a cheaper hair transplant but I’m hesitant to go there as an American. I have zero clue what they think of us.

Couldn't care less because Turkey is turning political anyway and stepping away from its religious roots and also Turkey is really in line with the U.S

From what I’ve read you gotta be careful finding the good doctors out there who don’t have their technicians doing all the work.

They have these all-inclusive flights that take you to a hotel and a driver takes you to the clinic and everything.

You can get a full FUE (scarless) hair transplant for less than $5000 where as in the US it could cost you anywhere from $8,000-$25,000.

ITT: people not aware that Turkey has a border with Bulgaria and Greece.

In other news:
- The smallest gap between Africa and Europe is like 15km.
- Greece is closer to Libya that it is to Poland
- Israel is farther away from Europe than Syria and Turkey
