Also imagine being force to hire less qualified females on a board because the law says there has to be a certain %?

Perfect example of how something sounds good in a fantasy world: "Equality" but the reality is quite different.

The most qualified will give a company more profit, only in the ultra high positions is where office politics and "cliques" come to play. But that's for any group.

"Why doesn't your team have more X?" "Because this is how the demographic became naturally. Anyone was allowed to apply and show their worth".

Hiring someone because of their look and not their qualifications, hmm I wonder what's that called? People see a group/board and automatically just assume if there isn't one type among them there's foul play. What a clown world, because who's fault if one sector has more of one type?

Forcing businesses to potentially be less efficient and profitable because of a flawed ideology is another symptom of a leftist hellhole.

Making a choice on a candidate based on their skin color is the very definition of racism and discrimination.

If you can't be color blind and focus on choosing the best, most qualified candidate, you have no business being involved in the hiring process.

I was once told by an HR person that I was more than qualified for a position, the strongest candidate they had.. but they wanted to place a female of color in the spot instead so I wasn't hired...

It honestly feels TERRIBLE for someone to tell you that you won't be hired because of your race. Phuck people like you who perpetuate racism, srs.

A couple years back I walked past my old producer and HR lead having a loud conversation in the middle of the office about the quality of applicants, the HR female was saying that she had been told not to forward any applications from white male to the teams until all the other candidates were seen.

That kind of HR gatekeeping is hilarious, fortunately I've never had to deal with it because I know people but damn, must be brutal to be qualified and never get a callback and have no idea why.

I agree brah but you say that like only black people get their cars searched. I'm white and got pulled out/searched with 2 cop cars behind me after not using my blinker (I did but they didn't see it apparently). It happens to people of every race.

This is nothing - don't get me wrong, I'm sure its a troll thread, and OP is a qualified lame regardless. Current culture right now in banking is that requisitions for positions must be kept open for an extended period to allow more diverse applicants.

So if you're a hiring manager and you find the right guy, doesn't matter. You can't hire him for another month until more women/black people etc apply so the company can claim they tried to get a diverse candidate.

Capitalism aint what it used it be. basically socialism via hiring. This is why smaller companies without bull**** diversity quotas are going to smoke larger ones. They get the best people while derp big company is waiting to see what candidate they can find that isn't a white male.

I literally had a girl tell me this to my face. Was insane. I don't know why she divulged this stuff to me, either she wanted to pump me up a little, or drop me down and let me carry this around. I forgive and forget though, although it is slight systemic racism (system slowing white males down)... I know it's on the perpetrator themselves as an individual, and that people everywhere have biases. It's on me to call out racism while trying not to let the fight embitter me.

ON a side note, is 'people of color' really the accepted verbiage these days? As a child I understand 'colored people' as a wildly racist term from the 90s. It like we're going in circles.

My wife had an issue like this a long time ago. Had a guy file a discrimination complaint against, her. The guy said my wife was extra hard on him due to him being black. The guy was just a really ****ty worker and never did anything on time. What the guy didnt know is that my wife is married to a black guy and has mixed kids lol.

This whole diversity hiring thing seems so silly. It should never come down to race regardless if both candidates were qualified. If she ever found out that was the reason she was hired, how do you think that would make her feel? I'll bet not that good and potentially not even want to work there anymore.
