My old Sony Bravia TV is losing a few pixels so, time to upgrade. Holy Shiiiit...all the differing tech, reviews, opinions. It's a freaking rabbit hole of immense proportions.


What's an old stinky geezer like me to do. I'm so old I remember going to an electronics store and buying a name brand CRT TV and it lasting 15 to 20 yrs.

I have an HD tv I paid like $1,000 for back in I think 2008 that's starting to have issues. Went to best buy to look at new tvs and wtf they have wifi built into the tv now? I think I can get a 4k smart tv that's bigger than the one I'm replacing for less than I paid way back when.

Only thing is I never watch tv anymore so it's sort of wasted on me.

I paid 3K for my Sony way back when, maybe 10 yrs ago. Budget this time is around 1K and I'll get a much better TV.

The good news is, since all new TVs are wireless capable, I can take the slightly defective one into the library with my Xbox and dedicate it as a gaming rig. I'll be so busy killing those little commie bastards I won't notice a few damaged pixels.

I was in Best Buy literally just a couple of hours ago and saw a 70 inch TV for $600, and I swear it was just a couple of years ago I drooled over one like that and it was a couple thousand.

All TV's are smart now though, so wifi comes standard.. I'm a big fan of Roku though because you can take it with you if you travel - so.. I don't use the "smart" on my new TV, or the one in my bedroom.

I feel you though.. I paid $1500 for a 55 inch TV in 2009 when "Smart" wasn't even a thing lol.

LG OLED if you can afford it, otherwise Samsung QLED is a pretty good alternative for gaming etc.

I'm opening up positions in safe dividend stocks for the time being until everything settles down. I think most savvy people saw the tech correction coming a mile away. Once covid became a thing everybody and their mothers went full send on tech, thinking it was the safe best. It was. I mean, Nvidia share price tripled in the span of a few months ffs. Made a pretty penny off of that.

Kicking myself in the nuts for sitting on the fence for too long on DocuSign. I still think it's a great buy. Their reports look great. I'll make a call on that next week.

I posted in here my plan selling all public traded securities - and said I wouldn’t re enter until the end of year.


I’m extending that until March before I consider - and still might not then

Like I said before if I miss out I miss out so be it.

Even if you don’t workout, eat below output and you will lose it.


The rest - stay on lifting routine that doesn’t involve ankle - get a good physical therapist to help you with ankle - even if it’s out of pocket it’s worth it if what you are doing isn’t working.

Funny you said that. There is a new LG OLED coming out mid September with 120 hz refresh rate. Comes in right around a grand. Figger that will be the new TV for the Chowboy residence.

Maybe a speed bag...or a headhunter type aqua bag. They don't take up a lot of space and would be great cardio...might not be too bad on your ankle.

Injuring my ankle again set me back at least a month of recovery. All I did was walk down the steps and roll it a little and I am back to wearing my boot.

Our surrogate to provide milk, my sister once and an organic pest control company. We canceled our housekeeper and my wife left her job so we do not have to get a nanny.

The CX already has 120hz at 4k, you just need a 3080 gpu to use it.
