Nice. What have been your favorite routines?

I liked 531 Boring but Big a lot.

Tried a Nsuns variation with lots of volume and gave myself tendinitis lol.

good question. my deadlift use to be quite a bit less than my squat. Over the past 6moths i ve made changes to my deadlift form, and one of the biggest changes was learning hook grip and getting rid of the straps. Without straps i feel i can setup my deadlift in a much tighter position from the top down. It is possible that my deadlift will soon surpass my squat, especially being that i squat alone and sometimes have to hold back because anytime you have heavy weight on your back and are shooting for 95% effort it is dangerous. With deadlifts i probably always push my self a bit harder because if i fail, only have to let go of the weight. Squats are slightly more intimidating in my opinion.

What do you think of this schedule:
- dont have to go in specifics but the idea is basically hitting every compound lift 2x/week (workout 1 = same as 3, and workout 2 = same as 4)
- w/ progressive overload
- changing exercises up every 4 months, basic movement stays the same, but slight variation: machine row becomes barbell row, db upright rows becomes barbell upright rows, Incline bench press become flat bp etc.

To japzz (having weird errors could not quote you)

I have heard of this regimen. And i do not think it is bad. My only issues with this regimen would be tuesday you squat thursday you deadlift. This is fine as your volume isnt high, but i find after a heavy squat or heavy deadlift session i do much better if I take 3+days to recover. I ve tried to squat and then deadlift 24 or 48 hours later, and it works but i find i break more PRs when i give 3+days recovery in between. Also missing shoulder press? I find this to be important.

look into the app on your phone called intensity. i use this all the time to log my work outs and it actually calculated your future workouts. thank me later.

Mirin longevity and stats.
Couple questions:
-Have you managed to stay injury free for most of that? If not, what were the major injuries/setbacks you've faced?
-Roughly how long did it take you to get to S405/B315/D495?
-How many people that you started training with or met along the way have stuck to it for 10+ years?

I eat beef maybe once a day. you are right eating alot of beef isn't easy for some. rest is chicken or tuna. no more than 1 shake a day.

on a cut to lower bf% 10-12 I def have refed

for me to get to 12% it d take a solid 4months at least. I ve dropped weight faster before but bye bye to gains.

on a cut my cleanest is probably 30g ish carbs, 10g ish fat 40+ protien a meal. then adjust based on mirror, strength, hunger, weight

What a waste of time. You could of started lifting a year ago and had exactly the same physique.

Just think of all the things you could have done with that time.
I m honestly 20ish %bf right now which probably wont be impressive on the surface. And i am ok with it. I ve been training heavy and breaking PR's in different rep ranges almost weekly.

[img]https://i.postimg.cc/zDTdy8s5/3.png[/mg]
What the phuk. Had to do a double take, you look just like me. Size, muscle shape, etc. Eerily similar. I'm on bloatlord status too.

Also, my legs are the same size and I built them up from mostly leg presses. After many years of no squatting, I throw in squats now and then at home these days but they aren't heavy. I think it's just leg genetics of peace brah.

As a brah who turned to the dark side after 10 years of lifting, I have respect for brahs who make it through a decade plus and then stay natty.

Especially when they've got solid physiques.

Good chit brah, mirin.

Dude shut up, he's clearly been ripped at some points too if you saw the other pics. He looks great. He said he's on bloat lord status to focus on strength gains. He's not even that fat. Maybe by bodybuilding standards but casual people will think he's jacked in clothes.

Nice work OP. Way to stick with it through the years, and actually answer questions ITT. Could use more lifting threads on the misc.

Have you ever had any significant injuries? I've been lifting a decade and that's been my biggest hurdle. Lots of fuked up things from 5ish years of powerlifting. Stay safe chasing those strength goals mayne.

Injuries are irl and they will happen. Have had a "sprain" to probably every muscle and joint in my body, nothing that didnt recover. I would say the two areas in my body that have encountered the most "injury" more so in the past, have been shoulders and low back. What is important here is to figure out what you are doing wrong and stop doing it. Low back injuries, for me, where likely related to poor core bracing. With a belt on and proper breathing and bracing technique my low back issues have gone away. Actually attack low back too with lowback/hyper extensions. Shoulder issues were too mostly related to poor bench press form. I do believe in attacking rear delts too to hopefully decrease injury and keep shoulders in "alignment". Again when i was younger i encountered these injuries much more than I do now. It's a matter of knowing your body too. I can do a deadlift and feel a twink in my spine and know to walk away now and if i dont things will get worse. You can sometimes feel a "burn" in the shoulder and know everything is ok just keep your form tighter. You really learn your body over time and know what signs/symptoms will make you pay later and what signs are just signaling you are out of alignment. If you go heavy, i dont care who you are, you WILL GET INJURED. Just learn from these and keep ego in check. Record your lifts with your phone from time not so that you can brag on the gram but so that you can really look at your technique. Really helps in improving form/decrease injury.

Might cut weight for the summer. It's winter time now, rather keep on going heavy.

Personally I believe you're doing it right. One should be in bloat lord status year round and be shredded only very minimally once in awhile maybe for the beach. But with bloat lord status u always have fat in reserve that you can use as energy or to build muscle in case times really get tough physically/mentally. Bloat lord status always beats shredded status.

just to add when you do go bloat mode dont forget cardio. not cardio to keep you lean but to keep your cardiovascular in condition as you add cals to diet.

tough question. after 17 years of lifting naturally only way to add strength to lifts consistently is being in a calories excess and on a program. I d say with proper programming and being past a newbie gain phase anywhere from 3months to 1 year. many factors in play here

Nice brah. Mirin srs. Have been lifting for 9 years. Was on 230lbs bloatlord status until covid hit and I got H. Pylori right at the beginning. Gonna hit it hard now though and do a cleaner bulk for the next year at least. Want to push some big numbers next year.

I thought I had some big legs but holy ****. You have some cannons. What do you do for your bis/tris? Those are my biggest weakpoints. Want to see what other natty brahs found success in.
