In the business world I think its the opposite. Its almost like being a female with massive fake tits. While people will positively comment, they may take you less seriously or judge you for looking like that

I dont know if its a good or bad thing, but I cant think of any other appearance based characteristic that becomes a feature of conversations. Its almost the same effect as being 6'8 or something

I don’t think so homie.
Being well build and low bf% is goat.
It seems like you thought it was the key to happiness - of course it’s not. Neither is a great career, lots of money, etc... but that doesn’t mean it isn’t great.

Pretty much agree OP. I get 95% hate and I'm not even huge. I can't even wear tanks when it's hot or I get neg comments or looks because people think I'm full of myself. I really just sweat a lot. .
The only supporters also feel it necessary to start talking about lifting or crossfit or some chit. So annoying.

business world you dont want it to be the first thing people mention or think about you. It should be your business skills, if you are so jacked that its impossible to ignore then yeah its distracting. Guy i knew that competed in shows as a heavyweight, dude was huge and its the first thing people noticed about him or when describing him they would mention. It didnt matter because he was basically a foreman for tradies so probably helped him with respect in a masculine culture if anything but it would be distracting in an office and he also always ate his own special meals which gathered attention and couldnt eat with the office. So its the first thing people associate with him and he was super good at his job but they didnt think of that first thing.
For sloots really they just want some dude with abs. A lot of these in hollywood bros will call twinks but females think they are jacked.

You lift for you and you only. Don't do it for girls just to get some pussy. Lift and train to gain confidence and self esteem. Do it to feel good about yourself. Train in the gym to better yourself as a person and become a stronger version of yourself than you were the day before.

If you are expecting getting ripped will make a huge improvement to your life you will be left feeling a sense of emptiness when you get there
BUT - as someone who was skinny fat until age 30, I can tell you that being fit definitely changes the way the world perceives you, which can have a huge impact on your day to day life and psyche. It's weird but beyond attention from females, you almost get a certain level of respect that you don't get when you're not fit. It's probably similar to those Brad Pitt 10/10 chads - everyone is just a little nicer and you get a little more attention.

If I didnt really enjoy being in the gym and lifting heavy ass weight, I would have toned it way back years ago. You realize pretty quickly, especially after college, that no one except yourself really cares how jacked you are. If you’re not making money off your physique or competing, the law of diminishing returns kick in fast with bodybuilding.

Eh idk man. It definitely isn’t everything but it puts you in a different category of life for sure. You’ve been lifting since 17 & have similar stats to me(started at 15) so you’ve gradually become like that, you’ve gotten used to it over time. People definitely look and make positive comments about me all the time. I mean shoot I got my foot in the door at my current job pretty much because of my physique and the guy told me that.
Also, an extremely high level aesthetic physique gets you TONS of attention. My friend has one of the best physiques I’ve ever seen irl and it’s literally like he walks around with an aura around him at all times. We’ll be going out to eat and he gets tons of comments from strangers, girls will be staring at him jaw dropped srs.
But you definitely have to do it for a larger purpose past a certain point or you will 100% burn out. I lift and chase a great physique cause I love it so much

To some extent it does do that, but as someone pointed out earlier this effect is huge in high school, big in college and then minimal thereafter...

issue is, if like me you got sucked into the bodybuilding mindset it just isnt appealing or rewarding, its more of an option for people who want to do the minimum to stay attractive
