AG just said they broke the door down, and that's when the BF shot the cop in the leg. Obviously, at that point....things go off the rails. The cops claim they knocked, but again, the body cam "malfunctioned", so we may never truly know.

The question I, and many have is....what exactly did the cops expect to happen by breaking the door down in the middle of the night? The situation didn't warrant this kind of extreme risk to both the officers and the people in that complex. The cop who was shot could have easily died if hit in a different place. Some bullets missed residents in adjacent apartments. Legally, they shouldn't be charged, but it was an idiotic and reckless decision that night.

No knock warrant is not a good idea. There could be innocent people in these houses and what do the cops expect to happen when they break into a criminal’s home? Shots will fly everywhere
