Coworker did that pretty much but slapped a large Monster energy logo on the cab back window and put a license plate on it that said "That OT". Looks like an absolute tradie truck and he never tows anything, just a pavement queen.

I keep a 6 inch drop hitch out the back of my lifted truck. Do I tow anything? Nope. But retards who can’t parallel park or drive will get some new radiator ventilation if they feel the need to hit my truck while doing so

speaking of trucks, was driving home tonight well after dark and an F150 got up behind me as we approached a pretty good curve. As I'm going through the curve (no passing zone, obv) a modestly lifted, debadged RAM goes flying around both of us. Get out of the curve and the F150 pulls out to pass me and...

Used to be a current year lifted pavement queen at work. Had a large custom sticker in the back window that said "TD$ MONEY". (TDS being the company name). Sooo creative with the "$" instead of "S" and definitely not douchey.

Street Guardian branded cameras are also extremely reliable with great customer service if you need it

Beware that there are only like 3 legit 4k cameras on the marketing (Viofo, Thinkware, Blackvue) the others are marketing deception. Also beware that the 4k cameras tend to do slightly worse than the 2k/1440 or 1080 cameras (the ones with good sensors) at night because each pixel of the higher density 4k has less light to work with...or something IDK but a really good 1440/2k camera is probably the best all around for a single camera

Yeah I only listed cameras with capacitors. Batteries are bad, they don't take well to the temperature extremes especially over longer periods of time. I have had cameras for 3-4 years, even back when they lived in the car parked in the driveway and never in the garage, all summer, with the windshield heat reflection thing put behind the camera, literally baking the camera between the windshield and the visor. Because capacitors, and Samsung (or Transcend) cards

Aukey electronics stuff in general seems to be one of the best cheap chinesiums

All depends on how paranoid you want to be, I'm fine with front, should add rear but kind of lazy on that. My main concern is someone hitting me or slamming their brakes (brake check) and being able to avoid blame on that.

When my other car got totaled someone made an illegal turn right into me (didn't look before turning) and I lucked out they admitted it to the CHP, otherwise it would have been a long insurance battle. After that I got front facing cam.

LTE isn't really a thing for dash cameras.

There are taxi/rideshare marketed two channel cams that are all one unit on the windshield and one faces out while the other faces in, there are regular tow channel for front/back exterior views, or you can just get something like that first Aukey I linked as your second/backup behind one of the regular duals, and if you get pulled over or somebody is approaching you or for some reason you want to vide yourself driving, you can just rotate the thing around to face you







It's probably made up but I've read that like 95%, ballpark, of the time a dash camera can prove fault (or not), a single channel front will do it








Last summer somebody pulled out in front of me. I was going highway speed on a two lane highway in the country when she just pulled out right-in-front-of-me because she didn't even look apparently. We ended up basically parallel when we hit. Did not get a police report. Gave footage to their insurance and they paid up for everything and admitted fault on behalf of their insured in about 2 seconds flat

This is a short clip from last year. It's from a secondary, older 1080p camera mounted way over by the passenger side A pillar. I gave the insurance company a couple minute long higher resolution center view video.

A picture is worth 1,000 words but video is priceless

(the longer video is just me driving along literally at the speed limit (with GPS on that camera, but fast because it's literally a highway) and she just decides okay I'm going good luck everybody else




I threaded the needle, I did not touch the guardrail and her car only got my running board, front driver wheel, and fender flare. It literally cost the insurance company more to rent me a pickup for a week during repairs than to repair mine...her car had more damage but that's not my problem. Running boards are tough apparently

I had to have my truck towed today. Been working on it off and on for 8 months and havent been able to get it to start, finally gave in. Worst part was I had to push it up the rv pad and turn the wheels then roll it down into the street and turn the wheels again to park it so the tow truck could get it.
