I pay for everything.

Occasionally she will get a bottle of wine or a hellofresh/gousto order for a week.

she does all house work, cooking, cleaning, gardening, adds all meals onto myfitnesspal etc for me too.

Am married. We have a separate bills account into which we put enough each month for fuel, bills and food. Whatever is left over we split 50:50.

50/50 but over the years get suckered into buying 'things we need', that she wants. Things that would make sense for home-owners, new end tables, kitchen chairs or stools etc etc, but we rent so all I think about is money spent and filling up an already small space.

Although when i was single I was using bodybuilding.com shipping boxes as a nightstand so my idea of 'needs' is ****ing biased.

Gf lives in my condo and doesnt pay any expenses and i dont really expect her to pay any expenses. Though she does most of the cooking and cleaning. I still do chores though

She has a condo herself which is for rental purposes

My income is abt 3-4X her income

Though when we buy a house together im gona have to ask her to start helping out with mortgage.

Down the middle.

If my income was at least 2x hers then I would split rent differently, all the other bills the same.

I've been absolutely boned before from a live-in GF on bills though. This one has her money in line.

50/50 bro. Teach her how to save money instead of burning through it. If she puts in 25% of the bills from 1 check and the next check, she'll have money left over to chill.

On the second date, see how she moves wit her money. If she's constantly guarding that ****, not even offering to pay, it's gonna let you know how its gonna go down in the long run.

Third date, if you wanna be on some Alpha male strategies chit, ask her if she's paying? if not, go to the next bitch

If she's cleaning HIS house, cooking HIS meals, doing HIS laundry, why should she have to pay half for living expenses?

You think that stuff is cheap and/or not time-consuming to do?

I'm employed full time making a decent salary, he makes about 40k more than I do. I take care of everything related to the house in terms of chores and taking care of him, and he's responsible for the bills and mortgage. To us, that's an even split.

Just lol @ dude coming home to a nice clean house, pressed clothes, hot dinner and packed lunches and then requiring her to pay half the house bills. TF outta here.

It's pretty 50/50 on the bills (rent, utilities, groceries,, cell phone, etc..) but I make 2x what she does (both 6 figs, but her just barely) so I almost always pick up dinner, gym membership, vacation, events, etc.

Although I make a fair bit more, my student loan payments are considerably higher so I feel like it evens out for the most part.

Planning to buy a place a soon though and I will have the mortgage so it'll be weird to have her "pay rent" so to speak. Other option is i pay 100% of mortgage and she covers everything else. Haven't gotten that far yet.

What do you mean split bills? I pay for everything. She is a queen who shouldn’t be bothered by finances.

I make more than my hubby but we split bills 50/50 including essential expenses for his kids

We have our own savings and banking accounts for things like if I want to get my toes done or he wants to buy himself some random thing like tools or video games

I used to make close to 4x her income when we now met but I was an arrogant piece of **** and split everything 50/50.

Swapped jobs and was unemployed for a bit and she handled everything without question or batting an eye. Now that I make money again I foot all the bills because she has a heart of pure fkn gold.

We do 50/50 now. Before we refinanced it was more like 60/40 but now we just do 50/50 because it’s so much cheaper now.

I make 50% more than her.

You guys are married though and acting like you're dating?

I don't understand why so many married couples have separate accounts in this thread? My parents and all my aunts, uncles, etc all have joint accounts, deposit their money into the accounts, and pay bills through that.

Wife does most house chores, husband does yard work or labor intensive tasks, both cook depending on work schedules, etc.

No wonder so many marriages fail nowadays. No one is a team anymore and base everything off how much each other makes and have separate accounts.

My ex wife and I basically combined incomes like a married couple right off the bat of moving in together. We acted as one unit made of two people.

That was easily one of the dumbest things I've ever done in my life. Would not legit fully join finances with anyone again even if I ever remarried. If I had a live-in girlfriend, I'd ask her to pay me 50% of my mortage, utility bills, groceries, and other mutual goods like cleaning supplies. I would continue paying for all house work/tools/etc. related stuff while simply expecting her to do her share of the house work/chores. If she wanted me to marry her, I'd expect a prenump safeguarding 100% of my house and future equity to me and me alone. Would never be conned into moving to a different house with her so she could rip me off in divorce easily due to it then being a post marriage joint asset.

When we got married, we split based on salary ratio and readjusted every year after raises. Starting out I was $50K, she was $35K, so I paid 59% of the household bills and she paid 41%. We each kept what was left over from our checks for our own spending, including cars. Never have had an argument over money in 27 years of marriage.
