Any input, either from those who have been there, or skipped it, any regrets?

I'm just not feeling it. She said it in bed and I got instantly nauseous. Fun time over.

Both are 26, been together for a year and a half (knew her since high school but we never had any contact). She did say she wanted to get a kid at 27 when we started dating. I got put off and thought meh, but life comes at you fast

My way of thinking is having a kid probably sucks as you get cucked with less freedom and a more passive role in life. Not having descendants at 50 probably sucks too. Am I wrong or do you just have to choose your suck?

She's still got time but not endless amounts. If she wants kids it would be wrong to anchor her down only for her fertility to start declining.

If this is a choice, wait until youre more financially stable (30s). I would probably wait 3+ years (maybe get married first and have a very stable relationship). Raising a kid in a split family is tough.

If there's a doubt, there is no doubt. If you don't think you're ready, don't put yourself through the stress.

Being a parent is a real challenge for sure, but I wouldn't change it for anything.

However, only commit if you think you're ready to commit. You will definitely lose control over your life and there will be days that really suck, but if you want kids there is no greater reward.

If you don't feel ready you shouldn't do it (SRS)

If she has her heart set on having kids soon and your not sure as much as it sucks you should probably consider breaking up

Having kids is beautiful. Srs. It's the purpose of life, anyone who disagrees is a *******. That being said the woman can make life hell, if she's not the one, or if she's not a great person, chit can get dicey.

Edit: also nothing really prepares you for it. And noone is the perfect parent they think they're gonna be. Also you don't have to lose all your freedom if you don't want to, frankly the women need to understand it's a man's world and we need to go out and blow off steam.

For a male, kids should be out of the question in your twenties unless it happened by circumstance / little fault of your own.

Thirties you should start considering it, but even then I would say 35-40.

Fourties or up you gotta make the decision soon.

Would be ideal to retire, or be close to retirement, when kids are in the picture.

It’s a big decision. You need a stable home, income, insurance and the like. You also need to be a grown up yourself to tolerate kids. I wasn’t one yet at 26 but I was a late bloomer.

You also need to be solid with your chick, the first couple years is a grind and if you guys get chitty with each other and fight when you are tired and things suck you are going to have a bad time.

On the flip side if you are waiting for things to be perfect before you start then give up now because it’s never perfect timing.

It’s tough but I wouldn’t trade or go back and change anything.

Males are different when it comes to this. Females want it earlier because it's biologically obvious.

But honestly your thoughts might change. At 26 I maybe wanted a kid or two down the road. At 29 now I want like 3-5 kids. Preferably 4 or 5.

But like others said, if you aren't feeling it yet, then don't feel pressured. Although if she does and doesn't want to wait, you either let her go (so you don't waste her eggs), or do it. That's part of the reason me and my ex broke up. She had a whole plan for our lives and timeline, and I didn't. Funny though now I am the opposite.

You're still young OP. And a man. If you aren't ready, then you're not ready.

I was 10yrs older than that when mine was born. It's hard keeping up, but still worth it.

Good luck!

Yo OP I'm 27 and my 1st born is due in Dec. If the thought of having a kid made you sick don't fukin do it. It's that simple. When my wife and I talked about having kids I was excited for it. Scared, but excited and I wanted to do it. Don't listen to retards on here giving you an arbitrary age you need to be because you'll never truly be "ready". When the time comes that the thought of it doesn't make you sick then you should consider it, otherwise hell nah.

if you buy into the hype of never having kids you're going to live a lonely as hell existence and this woman is just going to leave you and go have kids with another man and you're going to be left lonely and by yourself trying to sleep around with dumb sloots.

you will have nobody to ever come home to you will have nobody to share anything with you will have nothing of value in your life because anything that's worth a dollar isn't worth ****. You can't replace family with money.

It's an empty vapid lifestyle.

Having kids and a family > the trash that degenerate ******* miscrs and other people push.

I've worked in residential aged care, particularly in dementia facitilies, the overwhelming majority of residents don't get visited by there family on a regular basis. If you have a child visit you for 1 hour a week, you would be in the top 1%.

So you are likely going to end up alone whether you have children or not.

Had my first at 30, greatest thing to ever happen to me was becoming a dad. I didn't know I could love another human that much. Is unbelievably different than any other love on earth. I'd kill all 350 miscers with my bare hands to protect my child.
I know who I am. And after all these years, there’s a victory in that.

That's why you don't put them in nursing homes. Already told my parents that I am getting a decent amount of land to live on, and they will come build and live on my land when it gets to that point. They can see my kids regularly and keep them going spiritually and mentally. Family dinners, being part of a family and leaving a mark on the next generations, etc.

Can't imagine putting someone I love in that position and leaving them to rot alone. Although most people in America nowadays fall for the propaganda and parents resent kids and kids resent parents because they each view each other as wrongs in their lives.

Your plan is a good one, try to keep quality of life as high as possible, followed by a short decline. A lot of people are prematurely put into homes and I swear it takes 5 years off their life instantly.

Similar boat to you but a bit older and was considering making a similar thread so thanks opie. Reps incoming off recharge.
I’m 30 and my wife is pro kids, I was a manwhore from my early 20s until I met her in my late 20s and settled down. Because of that and manlet genes having a kid always scared the ever living chit out of me. Hell an ex hit me up awhile after we stopped seeing each other with pics of a kid claiming it was mine (she’s fukked up) and I felt legitimately nauseous immediately, coworker asked why I was so pale and chit.
Anyway I’m on the maybe someday but still cool with never having kids train and have been thinking about it a lot lately. Problem is I hear many claiming having a kid is the best thing ever, meanwhile those same people will complain about never sleeping and needing a vacation from their kids. My stepmom mentioned chit like that in front of me and I’ll never forget it.

I’d lean towards those saying if you’re unsure definitely wait. You hold the cards in this scenario for sure, don’t get trapped living a life you don’t want to.

Yup. I saw this with people growing up. My parents made me visit my grandparents all the time too. They always lit up. Probably why my grandma lived alone from 1998 to 2017 because someone always went over there to visit. She was in an assisted living after a stroke in 2018 for 4 months before passing. We had a schedule where usually two or 3 of us were there every day.

She was 93. That experience alone showed me not to throw my parents away because it is easy.

That plus seeing Jim Breuer with his dad showed me a lot.

Rough stuff brother. Had to get my Meemaw in a home and she was there between 2 and 3 months before passing right around the start of covid. She had dementia and I work a city away so I moved my cousin and his lady in with her but it got to the point she needed full time care and the assitance program chit only allotted for 6 hours a fukken week. We don’t make enough to cover a full time caregiver so that was our only option. Still breaks me up just thinking about it.
We made it a point to visit as often as possible but I was definitely praying for God to take her home. Her quality of life just wasn’t there (the care facility was high end but it was her mind deteriorating I mean)
It’s a rough position to be in dude. I don’t wish that on anyone.

If you were 40 and she was 26 It would make sense, but you’re too young to get nailed down like that.
