What's always been so stupid to me is that these days, probably 95%+ of the people you see all this footage of/see IRL screaming like banshees in the streets about politics know exceptionally little about the subject. As in, they might know some very basics they heard in public education/basic college history courses that barely scratch the surface of the subjects (and sometimes outright give false/misleading information, sometimes accompanied by bias depending on the teacher/professor). Beyond that, all they know is what the TV, news outlets online, social media tidbits, and their inner circle of friends/family they agree with about politics tells them to think.

They aren't logical at all. They don't realize how little sense it makes to be spazzing out over so much bs without knowing the details beyond the actual things they are complaining about. Like all of the cop hating protests/riots. Almost none of the participants/supportors of those these days actually inform themselves about the cases, and even when information arises that contradicts the narrative they have decided they believe in about it, they get angry/arguementative, and potentially worse over it. You can't bother trying to hold a logical discussion with them about it that tries to propose even a moderate, "wait to see/hear all of the evidence and court case" first approach, as they'll treat you as if you said some extreme alt right nonsense that had nothing to do with anything you actually said/try to say before they ge wound up and twist your words.

It's truly said how uninformed people are about politics/history. If someone doesn't find those topics interesting to be informed/learn about, I have no problem with that. However, I wish people like that would refrain from holding such firm and extreme positions about it, to the point of getting pissy with anyone who dares to disagree with a single thing they say or think about it all. Just like how I wouldn't claim to be an expert in the general hobbies of typical neckbeards and blue haired hipsters, I don't need to hear someone railing on about politics who doesn't bother to inform themselves about anything and is always 100% hellbent on their positions. People who are completely unwilling to even consider other ideas via discussion/research seldom have opinions/views worth listening to.

I work for a 51 billion dollar global company. We had three massive offices that probably brought NY City 100-200 million in rent, taxes, travel, etc. All have been closed permanently and are never coming back... The closures were due to taxes, regulations, unions and Covid/BLM just happened to be the last straw that broke the camels back.

Our CEO was caught up in the streets in the early days of the rioting. He wasnt hurt but we got an office closure notification the next day.

Am I the only one that is just heart broken by this?
