Anyone here spending the holidays alone with no significant other?

All of my friends have their s/o and newborns while I’m still here with no one. Even my siblings have their s/o

Pretty sad to be going another year without one and makes me wish I stayed with the last one two years ago.


What are you guys going to be doing? Truly miss shopping with someone and enjoying the holiday spirit

eh, me too, 2 and a half week broken up going on 3 weeks. sucks, but that's just the way it is. the breakup doesn't wait for an opportune time, it just happens holiday or no holiday. oh well... good luck op, hope you have a good Thanksgiving. I'll try my best too.

Agreed. No pressure of spending the holidays with her family, no wasted money on gifts, no disappointment from her if she doesn’t get engaged, no dread feeling of her leaving you if she doesn’t get engaged at the holidays. All of my breakups seemed to happen right after December. Would rather have avoided it all and just been with my family.

I was talking to someone but her crazy was at odds with my crazy. It was like we never even had a honey moon phase, she just went right through the devaluation stage for about 2 1/2 months and it was terrible.

This one was the opposite. She was frigid, didn't like putting out, had been damaged from previous relationships, and was weird about getting physical in general. By the end of it I wasn't even attracted to her because she was so hot / cold about sex. She was really depressed, and it rubbed off on me and then I realized after we called it off how she was making me feeling like sh!t for a month. Energy vampire sh!t. She wasn't malicious, though. Just damaged.

I’ve never had a girlfriend during Christmas time. Looks to be a nice time of year to have a significant other with the shopping and Christmas markets, Christmas movies etc. Christmas films give off such a great vibe and outlook of how nice it is to have someone that time of year and I can’t relate so I just don’t watch them lol.

Been single my whole life. Have always spent Christmas with the parents. Have been going over to the family estate every Christmas since moving out 8 years ago.

Doesn't really bother a veteran like me. I don't get rustled by all these Christmas adverts with happy couples snuggling together on the sofa.

Going through a divorce after 9 years of being together (no kids). I have absolutely no family where I live. I have a few good buddies who invited me to spend the holidays with their family, but I feel odd about it. Not to mention, it probably make me feel worse. Sucks...

Alone for second year in a row.

Still think about my ex WAY too much, we broke up just over two years ago (but hooked up a few times after, not good decision)/ She's with someone else and I need to seriously move on. We were together 6+ years and my brain just won't let go. Hate to admit it.

I have a date tomorrow though. Won't be a long term thing since she's moving, but maybe some good times.

i sometimes still feel like an FA, while yes i have dated before, but i've never been in a serious long-term relationship, just 4 months, and i feel i kinda settled for it, but to raise my self-esteem, i repeat to myself that it was better than nothing, i did it for the reference experience, another thing, we never dated or were never together during critical times of the year, such as Valentines Day or during the Holidays, never traveled together, and we never introduced each other to our friends or families.

I did that mainly because i wanted to finally break, snap the single streak, finally cross that hurdle, i didn't want to have to mental stigma attached to me that i was single throughout my 20s.

newly FA here too. dumped on thanksgiving while i'm laid up at home from surgery. cant drive until i'm healed, so i'm literally stuck at home alone with my dogs & can't go back to work this year.
