30 million, no question. Even if it's 30 million of your U.S dollars instead of sterling, still worth more to me (even as a history nerd) than simply witnessing an event. Once I come back to the present that event won't buy me a house, put food on the table etc.

30 mil. Observing the past is cope. And even if you see it, you can never be sure it´s actually what happened. You may be delsuioned into thinking you are seeing the past, you can never be sure. There is nothing out there to see.

Option 2 100%. So much stuff you could learn about and actually know for sure. Living my life would become so good, just feeling secure knowing that I am always doing the correct thing.

My mind couldn’t handle seeing the parts of the universe and points in history that my curiosity would lead me to.

Rather just invest 90% of the money and live a comfortable, normal life.

All of our ancestors went through so much **** just to survive and pass on their genes to us. I think it would be irresponsible to turn down the kind of wealth which would allow your family to be comfortable forever if used carefully. For example, my family traces back to 14th century Normandy. They were dealing with a medieval Ice Age and diminished agricultural productivity, the Black Plague, very destructive wars between France and England, feudal labor disputes, and all the general stresses of premodern society. It would be insulting to their sacrifices to turn down the money and protect our descendants.

Definitely the money. Especially since you can only observe the part in history; just read a book and visualize it. If you could go back in history and change it, then that is a different story.

even if you can look at any part of the universe/history, there's only so much time you have.
Do you want to live your life or do you want to use your ability like watching netflix all day?
Not to mention the universe is so big, even with the ability there's a huge chance you'll never find alien life, even of the universe was filled with alien life.
It's just too fukkin big.

Unless i'd find a way to make money with said ability, i'd take the money.
Although you'd have access to the best pron with the ability, since you can spy on anyone.

The answer to the question as it stands is pretty easy.

BUT if part of the deal were you could see certain things that are happening in the present, or you can ask a question and it will take you to evidence in the present that answers your question, that my be a different story. I may consider that vs the $30M.

Only to a degree. Winners write history. Nothing you read is 100% accurate.
Also there are times in historry that isn't written about or simply is nothing but guessing work.
The first humans and how they lived with actual accuracy, the dinosaur era and what they looked like and acted like, the creation of life on earth. The origin of the big bang.
What came before that. What's outside the ''visible'' universe etc.

depends, if I got that ability to use it whenever i wanted or more than once, I would take the ability


If it was a one time thing then the 30 million, no one time experience could be that life changing, people like to pretend their trip to some 3rd world country, or skydiving or whatever was some kind of spiritual awakening but that is all BS.

But if I could do it whenever i wanted, that is the ultimate mog, that is like being an astronaut, no amount of money can even buy the experience.
