I mean it’s not some “a-ha, must all be fake” issue.

I obviously wasn’t in charge of the tapes, so I cannot say for certain, but should be noted the actual broadcast (post conversion) was recorded in its entirety: there is no “lost footage” of the Apollo 11 EVA that was lost...what you see on YouTube was the entire broadcast. What was lost was just the raw SSTV magnetic tapes....perhaps they realized the commercial broadcast was recorded all over (and it was), and the tapes were redundant in a sense, who knows.

If this was an oversight, well that’s just what it was.... it could surely have happened with a real moon landing. It is better to examine the actual evidence for the Apollo moon landings, than to focus on something like magnetic tapes being lost (that surely could happen with actual landings). Clear evidence such as

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thir..._Moon_landings

a lot of which doesn’t make sense if Apollo astronauts never landed on the moon.

Going to the moon is so expensive so they never bothered to go back. You know except for the 6 total trips they made in 3 years.

Why are the Russians waiting until 2030 to go?

Last November, during a visit to satellite manufacturer Russian Space Systems, Dmitry Rogozin, who heads the country's space agency, Roskosmos, spoke about Russia's plans to land humans on the moon after 2030. Then he issued a dig at the United States. "We've given ourselves the task of going there to check whether they've been there or not," he said, smirking in response to laughter from the room. "They say they've been. We'll check that."

Lot of divided posts in here

Never really cared enough to truly research it but I'd like to believe we did but I wouldn't be surprised at all if it was faked

The American government has always been shady but especially during the 1960s (ex: JFK assassination, testing nukes, etc.)

Not an Ameribrah so I have no reason to root for you. That said, you guys accomplished some badass chit before you turned to the ways of the soy.

The moon landing was 100% real. I have zero doubts of that.

They didn't fly to the moon and back in that.

They only landed on the moon and went back in lunar orbit in that.

As I have mentioned before, the US has extensive records on what Elvis was doing, lol, but it had no one copying and saving files for ROCKET PLANS? I mean the CIA and everyone would have been all over this stuff and everyone who worked in the project. They aren't going to lose anything.

Also, it is JUST A ROCKET and there's no science fiction hyperdrive or anything in it. There are only so many ways something like that is going to work, due to the limitations of science. So, the US spent a lot of money making it, but that was due to the companies making it. It didn't need "Tritanium" to work, because it was just a rocket.

In addition, there would only be so many ways to navigated and so forth.

All of that means it should not have been a mystery then how it worked and it certainly shouldn't be now.

There was no way that NASA, while basically going to another planet, lost stuff, erased tapes, accidently threw out major plans for the whole project, and so forth. It's absurd and it say that someone is lying about the topic.
Define copying and saving files.

Two things I would like to address.

First: I see a lot of people saying that these astronauts were forgotten about and not celebrated. This might be because of where I grew up (Houston) but those guys were all fukking legends. John Glenn, Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin were all household names when I was a kid. I remember touring Johnson Space Center with my class and everyone being in absolute awe when we got to meet and talk to actual astronauts. It was like meeting our heroes straight out of modern mythology.

Second: the theory that we did not actually land men on the moon relies on one crucial fact - that the United States Government is capable of fabricating and maintaining the grandest hoax in the history of mankind for over 50 years without a single shred of definitive proof EVER having been leaked. The thought that our government is THAT good is absurdly preposterous in my eyes from everything I have witnessed in 33 years... With only that single reason alone I would have absolute and utmost faith that the moon landing was real.

You could also have functional satellites powered by balloons so theres that, nasa happens to be the worlds largest consumer for helium.

Do you believe, the military, the FBI, the CIA, in the SIXTIES---is going to let people just build the MOON ROCKET any old way they feel like?

The FBI kept massively detailed profiles on people like Elvis and other celebrities, that amounted to NOTHING but when it comes to the moon rocket, they're just going to let anyone do anything to put it together the best way they know how?

There is no way in hell they did that.

So, the article I posted is BS.

I think the key distinction is brining life to the surface. Nobody cares about getting humans to the ISS, that is child's play, the Moon is almost 1,000 times further away. It's really just hard to comprehend IMO. Getting a remote control toy car to the moon is baby chit, hell Tesla through a car out to Space for funzies, manned flight 239,000 miles away is another story.

People are still defending Columbus and everyone knows who he is, but for real, the astronauts are not famous in the US. People can name like one or two and I'll bet that the average kid in my city, Philly, can't name one.

Meanwhile, these guys got in a giant rocket, flew 200k miles to the moon, managed to flew another ship, and land on the moon, and they had a car, where they DROVE AROUND ON THE MOON, and now it like no big deal..... However, the Columbus story has a song and everything, lol.

Regarding your second point, there have been LOTs of weird situations that indicate something is up. Photos that are fake, NASA said they were retouched. Moon rocks are from Earth, thus generating a new theory how the moon was formed. There's a lot of arguments about radiation being impossible to overcome and there's all kinds of other stuff.

One of the glaring things is that we can't really do what they did back then, now. Probes sent to Mars crash land, then don't land, but we managed to land a craft on the moon. It's no just that but NASA says they never had plans for the rocket, they just threw them together, and stuff like that sounds odd.

And lucky enough, we dont have to rely on this one single reason- the unlikelihood of no leaks- since there is vast evidence out there, much of which is listed in the link above. Also.....

No actually discussion ettiquite dictates that you should provide a link to the information you referenced. Simply because you feel otherwise doesn't mean that you are correct.

The Mars things is nonsense to generate money and hype for a company.

There are MAJOR issues with space flight which are:

It's extremely hard to maneuver in space. That's because there are no control surfaces in space. So, there has to be a jet in place on everything to make that area a control surface. Our current model is to shoot something in a direction and then just let it drift. We can't "fly" in space and so changing course is very hard.

Also, we have no landing craft to land on Mars, which is a huge issue, obviously.

If there was a big enough craft to float to Mars and arrive, that's one thing, but there is no craft to have on that ship, to land on Mars, then take off and return to the main craft.

So, this is not going to be done for hundreds of years, if ever.

You would need a "real" spaceship like in a science fiction movie to go to Mars. It would have to be large, maneuverable, and with an advanced shuttlecraft with super advanced engines, reentry protection, etc that can land and take off from a planet BY ITSELF. We have nothing close to any of it.

I am not providing a link that water is wet, is H2O and so forth.

This is not a new topic and has been discussed literally for decades. People interested already know what they're talking about. People newly interested can look it up.

I have been reading huge amounts of stuff on my topics since I was a kid and do not repeat research for people on the internet.

I guess it's just a regional thing then, because the space program as a whole is still a common topic around here, far more so than Christopher Columbus. Hell we are house shopping right now and I just saw a house with one of the selling points being that it's in the same neighborhood a lot of the astronauts lived in during the Apollo era.

And feelings /=/ definitive proof...
