I think Justin was still wearing cutoff jean shorts, blackface, and rapping when I worked for TD.

So it wasn't that long ago.

Another counterpoint to the OP showing you can accomplish anything if you don't play the victim, but maybe you have to cater to them to get ahead.

Is this supposed to be surprising given the performance of the stocks their net worth is directly tied to? I'm confused

No **** it's easier for their net worth to sky rocket compared to the average person lol

Why do you think walmart is allowed to stay open, and governors and mayors aren't stopping looters from destroying the small businesses around walmart?

It's because walmart has billions of dollars to throw around, to bribe officials. The same thing every other S&P 500 business is doing.

Second, the longer covid remains the more money all the billionaires are going to make, for obvious reasons. Meaning there's great incentive to use their power to buy government officials, and keep COVID alive as long as possible, hence policy reactions from governors and mayors to COVID that make very little sense.

Sure, they aren't rich BECAUSE people are poor, but they're rapidly increasing the economic divide by using their power to crush everyone at the bottom.

The end result is $$ will be siphoned out of joe shmoe making 40k/year who had to shut down his small mom & pop store, and into the bonuses of the upper brass at Walmart, because Walmart was able to buy officials.

One of the strongest power moves I've seen. Gonna have to remember that one when I'm CEO'ing myself

I would legit consider roping if they made me dress up in a ridiculous costume and took pics of me. How humiliating

- Secret Santa Day

I still maintain that a lot of this "team building" cuckery and social bs at work is the result of more and more women occupying positions of power. Men don't give af about all this buffoonery. It's all a massive waste of time.

Sadly this. The transfer of wealth happened because the governement destroyed small business and middle class to remove competition of top companies. Ironically, the ones who most adamantly supported the lockdowns & closures will be the ones screaming loudest about the disproportionate increase of wealth at the top. Wtf did they think was going to happen? And it’ll probably get worse next year as I expect the amount of real estate that gets scooped up will set records as well.

I think you're right. At the tech companies I've worked at, Sales/HR (obviously more female dominated than Tech dept) does a bunch of these cringy events all the time
- brb crazy hat day
- brb pyjama day

we high school now? you really want a bunch of grown professional men to dress like the Cat in the Hat to work, and it's not even Halloween? fuk off.

meanwhile, the tech organizations are almost all male technical managers/directors and never have these cringy events. just normal ~quarterly optional open bar outing, restaurant, etc.

You should have seen my reaction when the ceos secretary popped up on the zoom call when she was speaking and she had some antlers strapped to her head and a red nose.

Then you should have seen my disbelief and I’m honestly not making this up when I was scrolling through the names at the top of the screen and some dude was literally dressed as an elf. Like he was in a Fuken jester outfit. CEO was wearing a grey quarter zip. I was on mute, camera off and doing dishes instead.

Best quote I heard on this goes something like:

"It's all insider trading. It's just a question of how close you are to the inside"

Very true when you think about it.

very true indeed. not to mention all the other tricks you can do to fuk with retail traders.

brb downgrade stock, stock price falls, scoop up shares for cheap, upgrade stock, stock price rises.

brb buy a ton of call options, call sellers buy more shares to hedge options sold, share price and call options price skyrockets.

Most of its luck, not hard work.

If Bill Gates wasn’t born where he was there would be no Microsoft. He just happened to live where one of the only schools had computers and students could access it.

Suggest reading outliers by Malcolm Gladwell, really shows how most success is determined by luck.

Vast majority of my money is in stonks, and my net worth went up a LOT this year.

Don't hate the players, hate the game.... Or just participate. Literally EVERYONE can buy stonks.
