New studies report that only 17% of cases are caused from asymptomatic people. Past numbers exceeded 80% of all cases were caused from asymptomatic infected people.

Makes sense. If you're asymptomatic you also don't have a high viral load to be shedding. If you're asymptomatic, you're not doing a lot of coughing or sneezing either.

Asymptomatic = / = presymptomatic. The virus is actually most contagious right before symptoms develop. Asymptomatic people never have any symptoms.
