Of course people care that our neighbors are dying, but there are so many other far reaching effects that are effectively ignored. People are suffering everywhere, behind closed doors. There is so much more to measure than just health and wealth. Our country rose to great heights with the assistance of capitalism, but before that, the thing that made america special was it's social capital. People cared about each other, and we cared about the systems and organizations we created for the benefit of all.

Lockdowns and fearmongering are eroding the social capital that makes us such a valuable and efficient economy/country. This is no way to live.

With the ratio of actual infections 8x higher than confirmed infections 3 months ago (per CDC), you need to do some thinking. Getting that ratio down gets harder and harder with the counts already in the many millions and numbers growing. Getting it down under 7x ratio is a monumental feat requiring months of insane levels of testing. Basic stats. But let's go ahead and pretend that somehow, somehow the total # of infections has fallen to just 6.5 to 7x higher than confirmed ones since last February. That means over 40% (over 133 million) of Americans have been infected since last February. By the time people under 65 who aren't "essential" workers are getting the vaccines, half of us under 65 will have had it anyway. Little for people under 55-65 to worry about even when they're just regular obese. Gotta get to morbid obesity before worrying. Same is true for them with a hundred other diseases too though.
