US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Sunday night said she would give Mike Pence, Vice President, 24 hours to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove Donald Trump from office before launching impeachment proceedings.

Ms Pelosi, the most senior Democrat in the House, said in a letter to colleagues that she believed the president represents an" imminent threat" to democracy.

“The horror of the ongoing assault on our democracy perpetrated by this President is intensified and so is the immediate need for action," he said.

On Monday, House leaders will work to swiftly pass legislation to do that. If it is blocked by Republicans, which is almost certain, the House will convene for a full House vote on Tuesday.

Ms Pelosi explained that the resolution calls on Pence “to convene and mobilise the Cabinet to activate the 25th Amendment to declare the President incapable of executing the duties of his office.” Under the procedure, the vice president “would immediately exercise powers as acting President,” she wrote.

This lady is power drunk. If Biden really wants to unify the country he should tell her to sit down and let him run things his way. Her entire political career is like a endless exhausting chess match. She and Mitch should have married.


If I was Biden, I wouldn't go for the second impeachment, it shows balls and guts to get over party warfare for the good of the country. You literally gain nothing with it apart from a symbolic victory.

I'm ignorant in this. He was impeached last year and was able to run for reelection. How was he able to last year ?

Impeached in the house. Doesn't do anything unless the senate is on board.

I don't remember exactly how it works but I believe the house impeached then the senate has to vote to execute that impeachment which didn't happen.

They mean impeached and removed from office, which is what they’re trying to do. Impeachment alone means nothing but show.

In Trump's speech that he gave the day of the riots, he said this to the crowd of supporters:
We have come to demand that Congress do the right thing and only count the electors who have been lawfully slated, lawfully slated. I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building topeacefully and patriotically make your voices heard.
Also, the timeline of events on that day, Trump was still giving his speech to his supporters when the rioting started. Media said that his speech "incited" the riots, but that isn't possible when he's literally still giving his speech 1.5 miles away.

I read an article today that said even if Pelosi tries to impeach, it won't go to trial. The House can impeach a President with just a majority vote. However, in the Senate you have to go to court and have actual evidence. The earliest that a trial would be able to start would be 1 hour AFTER Trump's term in complete. And based on the verbiage of the Constitution, you can't impeach a private citizen.

For the reason why Pelosi is pushing for impeachment is because they don't want him running for any political position in the future. With 71m votes this election, he would be very likely to win if he ran for an office position.
