What they did to Parler is legit scary

Idc who you voted for if you’re in agreement that there’s nothing wrong shutting down severs taking it off the App Store etc to suppress their free speech.... son you need to off yourself srs. Try drinking anti freeze you raging commie homo

They are public corporations who’s sole goal is to make profit.

It was a smart business decision.

You make it sound like it’s the government that implemented this.

Wtf is so hard to understand about this?

Fuk even if I were a trump supporting tech founder I’d probably do the same since my sole responsibility is to maximize profit for my shareholders.

Aren’t conservatives supposed to be pro business? A business can deny service to anyone they please.

Now imagine they've also made it illegal to congregate in groups (to protect you from coronavirus) and they're in the process of shutting off any alternative speech website. Soon, online or offline, there'll be no way to communicate different ideas except the mainstream narrative.

I agree, it is frightening what Amazon did to Parler. As I was reading this morning no evidence has been shown that Parler was involved in the Capital mob. Parler CEO said the company already has measures in place to stop violence also. The article can be seen here ~

They're losing money from this. Twitter stock down more than 10%. Execs from Twitter/******** are on Bidens transition team and will have roles in his administration. This is obviously politically motivated.

One less competitor for twitter also.

If 2020 taught us anything, it's that freedom loving Americans who built their identity on "don't tread on me" will roll over and take it up in the ass like the good little cucks they are. So if a few companies with monopolies on their markets get to decide what's allowed and what's not then what do we have? A plutocracy of unelected officials. The monopolies basically kill any competition that may challenge their power hence all the anti trust lawsuits.

It is true that free speech existed before the internet and social media platforms and smartphone apps, but back then people and organizations didn't have a choice but to go out and talk to crowds and have in-person events. These days, especially with COVID, pretty much everyone needs the online aspect to communicate and understand what's going on in the world. I don't think Trump deserved to be completely banned from Twitter and ******** and every other platform. Maybe a slap on the wrist, like a 2 week ban until Biden assumed Presidency, for example.

Sure, these are private companies and they have a right to snuff out unlikable people using their platforms, but they hold too much power to operate so harshly. They're not necessary limiting free speech, but they're limiting the access of information, which isn't right IMO. If they can wipe the POTUS existence off the internet, imagine what they can do to regular folk like you and I. It's definitely scary and kind of oppressing how much power they hold.
