It is FOMO on steroids. A nearly BK company like AMC or a KOSS going from $3 to $105 is insanity. There is no rhyme or reason for it and when you see people like your friend wanting to get in stocks now?

That is a sign that a major sell off is imminent.

Well to be fair, AMC did just get nearly a billion dollars in funding so they will be nowhere near bankruptcy now. If it were to run up to $105 then yes that's insanity, but for it to run up how it did ($25 or so), it's honestly not that surprising if it happened just based on the funding news, and not only that but the vaccines are being distributed. It's all time high was around $40 (just guessing, didn't look) so not entirely unreasonable for it to hit $25.

Also, bought 1 share of GME this morning for the lols, @ $480ish. Should I sell now? Not happy seeing a $300 loss, thought this would moon to $1k.

Exactly......Never seen so many people IRL want to get into the market at once and that is a huge signal for something. I don't necessarily think it means a major selloff, I'm more inclined to speculate this means we'll continue to see massive rallies in certain sectors w/ obvious dramatic corrections like GME. And no doubt there's a 20ish % correction 1ish times a year so that may come too.

Edit- But with this many new people wanting to throw money in I actually think Venom's prediction of a 40k + dow isn't out of the realm of possibilities for a few big reasons. Oh wait I mean 60k....nonetheless,,,,wouldn't be surprised, I'm all in long.

If you did it for the lolz you can afford to lose the money. Just hold it. If these brokers allow trading again GME is gonna fukin moon hard.

Seems like a reasonable price for a nice speech.

Nothing to see here. This isn't laundering.

Price has gotten awfully far away from the weekly 50MA at this point, and it seems like no one has noticed.... reversion to mean incoming? Shietstocks mooning irrationally is also often a sign of a macro top as well...

just food for thought, maybe with fed printer going brrr we're actually in a new paradigm and this time will be different

I don't think even I'm retarded enough to forget 1 call contract = 100 calls. I'm thinking it was some kind of glitch in their system. Of course I only slept 6 hours last night, so my brain could possibly have crashed.

For some reason, the order went through and I was down nearly a million in cash. I rushed to sell, but my broker's (Royal Bank of Canada) was down. By the time it was back up, GME had crashed. RBC liquidated all my calls for far below what my buy order filled at and destroyed my account. Then, as we all know, GME rebounded. If they didn't touch any of my positions I would have been fine. Taken a big loss maybe but not negative $300k in cash. The interest charged for negative balances is 21% annually."

edit: Actually wait.

he bought 100 calls (those calls feb 5th 570$ strike) were $110 this morning.

so he bought $1.1 million worth of call options.

right now those contracts are trading at $55 each.

why would broker sell on him? he got margin called on wait down? broker protecting their margin? thinking gme will crash and burn.
Another sign that the market is near a top when people like this start doing these kinds of things.

A new high into February and I wouldn't be surprised to see a correction into April. I doubt we'll get a true bear market but 2021 could just be a more rangebound 2020. Still targeting 40,000 djia in 2022. 65,000 by 2030.

What's going on right now is complete bull****, although I will admit I've had a bunch of laughs today at the expense of others.. Stocktwits live feed at 6:30am was absolutely hilarious... I was howling with laughter at the twitter post to robinhood "I will burn you to the ground".

I'm holding. DGAF. IF there's a class action law suit, I'm in. This is blatant rule breaking and cheating... Dare I say just like the election? But that's another topic.

This is yet another eye opening event for America and ROW. Take a look around. They all tell you to behave, behave, behave, yet the people up top do nothing but lie, cheat, and steal.

I KNEW there would be tears today. I called it and that's not to say I told you so, but yesterday just had that fools gold allure. I'm guilty because I jumped in on it. I ignored BTC @ 33 bucks 10+ years ago. I ignored gamestop recently at $5, $17, $50, $130 and beyond.

Take this as a valuable lesson guys. You can't be mad.
You guys really need to stop with the conspiracy talk when it comes to the restricted trading of some of these stocks with certain brokers.

I have seen this thing for 30 years and believe it or not most of the time it has to do with the risk management dept of each broker.

They do not want idiots going on margin and buying $500 K of GME and seeing the stock fall 80% in 5 minutes and all of a sudden the person owing the broker $450 K and only having $100 K in their account.

Brokers are there to make a market, facilitate trades, and generate commissions. They are not in the debt collections business.

Under normal circumstances if a person buys on margin, it may take a weeks or months for a stock to drop 80% or more, thereby allowing the broker time to initiate a margin call. But in the case of these MEME stocks, they can drop 80% in 5 minutes and never allow a broker to do that margin call before the investor owes 300% more than his account is worth.

Now, I am not saying in the case of RH that there may not have been some other factors in play as well, but 99% of the time the reason these trading restrictions happen is because the Risk Management Dept orders it.

BB went up 700% on nothing. No news, no fundamentals, nothing.

It went up because of a momo infused short squeeze crowd buying it for FOMO and now many of those people can no longer buy.

The lock of the world would be to short stocks like BB and GME and just hold for 3-6 months. Because I promise you in a month or two, maybe less, they will all be right back where they started.

Etrade. TD Ameritrade. Fidelity etc.

Etrade is the best as you can buy anything, but just be aware there will be a commission. They are not free. $4.99 to buy and about $10 to sell.
