I have a 2005 Toyota Camry(very food condition for its age) .. My mom was driving it earlier while I was in the passenger's seat and I started to smell burning rubber..seconds later my car refused to drive anymore.. it ended up driving more(enough to get me home) ...it absolutely will not go in reverse.. When driving it it runs well..no issues. No problem with the transmission previous to this.

Negligent homicide is a criminal charge brought against a person who, through criminal negligence, allows another person to die.[1]

I'm going to assume the thread is gone. How does someone pass out in the snow? I don't think you can literally get that high unless you are shooting heroin or something

Couple years ago my truck snapped it's main engine belt. Pretty much did what you're describing plus loss of power steering.

Transmission is a closed system. Very unlikely it could generate a burning smell. More likely it's the rotator splint.
