What does America mean to you?

I was obsessed with American things when i was a kid to the point where my friends nicknamed me “Tex” after Texas due to my obsession.

I would spend every Saturday afternoon sipping coca cola and watching tv programs like Americas strongest man whilst my father tried his best to get me to watch something like James Bond and be more British...

but it was already too late, because in my eyes i was already American and my name was Tex.

Now, i was just listening to Billy Joel’s - Uptown Girl and reminiscing about when i was young and fantasised about going to New York, becoming a mechanic called “Tex” and marrying an uptown girl like Madonna.

Which got me thinking...

What does America mean to you?

Anerica had a good run fron 1945 till 2001. Wheels started to come off a little then 2008 the rust really set in. 2016 was a bit of an overhaul, but looks like 2020 is gonna be the end. To many miles and problems to justify fixing it.

I too fantasized about America and NYC like you op, and still do.

There’s still pockets of us in rural areas that people would recognize but yea all of our major cities went the way of soy right infront of my eyes.

IMHO it all started when we let homo be a thing to celebrate. I don’t hate gay people at all, I just think sexuality is a normal human activity that is retarded to celebrate no matter what you prefer. It’s really a shame we allowed THAT to be such a huge focus point, all over making a % FEEL welcome. We all know who’s in the FEELINGS game so I blame them.
