The drydown is actually very nice. A beautiful peach and amber/vanilla with a trace of almonds. Once you get past that ashtray vibe, it's a good fragrance.

Where to go from here? I really enjoy the vibe I get from OW, I honestly don't know what I'd change. I'd like to sample some more from the same vein.

I think you recommended me saudi by Roja. I will sample that and two others next.

Essentially a clone ofConfetto(1996), except they replaced the anise (black licorice) of Confetto with cedar.

I remember sampling Aventus for the first time couple years ago and loling at how underwhelmed I was. Came straight into the MCC to express my disappointment.

Shortly after, I sampled Saudi and everything clicked brah. It was EXACTLY what I wished Aventus would be. Much deeper, richer, that slightly skanky touch of Oud with candied fruits to make it addictive and mysterious. After so many discoveries and scents tested, it blew my fuking mind and shot straight up to my #3 of all time. And certainly my most versatile scent because my top two are basically gourmand category.

Honestly it's so expensive so maybe you should not go down that rabbit hole but good luck.

I had originally had the EDT. Had only tried the Parfum in like Macy’s. Had never tried the EDP. So when I went to re up, I posed the question here, EDT,EDP or Parfum and the general concensus from what I remember was EDP - Parfum - EDT. So I blind bought EDP(not really blind buying as the DNA is extremely similar). Speaking for EDP, it’s smoother than EDT and stronger. I really don’t think you could go wrong with any BdC though.

I remember thinking the EDT was pleasant enough when I tested it but it had that "cologne smell". I got a brief test of YSL Y EDP years later and it was definitely better to me than BDC.

I feel like I should test the edp/parfum along with YSL Y edp again and decide what I'd go with.

I have carded samples (2 or 3ml each) of the EDT, EDP, and Parfum and honestly I dont like any of them. The Parfum is the least offensive of them, but all 3 of them are boring, unoriginal, and very much "meh" to me. I fully acknowledge I am in the minority here as BdC is obviously widely popular - but neither of them do anything for me.

I also dont like Green Irish Tweed so maybe I'm the potato here? lol

This is how I felt with the EDT. It's just good. But not special in any way. Girls will love it. You can wear it every day and get more compliments than the whole MCC combined. But it just didn't excite me. I was maybe hoping the parfum was a huge difference but I guess not.

Ill admit I am biased. BdC EDT was my first ever cologne purchase when it was first released(before all of the hype), so I definitely have some blinders on here!

what are the most wearable Amouge scents? Reflection Man, Jubilation? What else? Seems like a lot are offputting with strong ash or incense notes.

It is an Omani house and frankincense is what Oman is/was known for, so its in a ton of their fragrances. The likes of Reflection and Lyric are the more wearable offerings from the line.

Got a full bottle of this one from a Sephora sampler pack coupon. Originally wanted Prada Luna Rossa Carbon, but they were out so I went with my second choice. I'm liking it more and more, very fruity and sweet opening with a fantastic marine dry drown. Projects heavily and lasts a long time too. Hard to decide if I like this more or less than Versace Eros.

Once you do 2-3 sprays your sillage will be perfect. Any more and you'll goof.
Thanks man. Yea all those people saying "literally everyone wears Sauvage", my first thought is what are you talking about? Where do you live? In my class with 26 male students, I only know of 3 of us who wear cologne with any sort of regularity, and we're all fairly mature put-together guys. The vast majority of dudes I know don't wear cologneat all, much less this specific one. Excited for it to get here and see what all the fuss is about.

Cheaper too, by about 50%.

I struggled deciding between Carbon and Sauvage to buy. Eventually went with Sauvage since it's the OG and allegedly projects a lot better. Heard people say Carbon doesn't last as well, but who knows.

Prada L'Homme to this day might be my favorite fragrance, so I like the company. But don't have anything from Dior until my Sauvage gets here.

I smelled it and they 100% copied the Sauvage DNA, don't be dumb.

You really think they made this fragrance not using Sauvage as the inspiration and it just happened to pop up shortly after and smell so similar?

Don't get so irate mate.

Sauvage inspired a lot of different frags.
