Hi Red, Did you hear about the historic speeches in our House of Lords Monday night?

I have never seen or heard anything like it from a peer debate before, it was unbelievable.

This bill is only a small bill, rushed through to allow the sitting attorney general to take paid maternity leave (she is currently pregnant obviously), the bill omits the word “woman” and “mother” and “female” and instead uses... “person who is pregnant” etc. Obviously we launched a massive campaign to attempt a late amendment to the bill to specifically mention women etc, and try to raise awareness of the erasure of womens rights by the TRA’s. Honourable Baroness Noakes tabled that amendment....

We never imagined that the Lords and Baronesses would use the debating of a small bill to smash home some points about women's rights erasure, the purposeful and harmful conflation of “sex” and “gender”, institutional capture by trans lobby groups like Stonewall.... it was marvellous! More than we could ever have hoped for. The bill will be entering committees stage tomorrow, every line will be scrutinised.... maybe it is unable to amend the wording at this late stage (given the pressing need for speed with this bills passing) but a powerful message was sent from the House of Lords to the Commons, and by extension, to the Prime Minister.

Sunlight shone harshlyI think we are starting to be heard.

I had not. The same absurdity is happening over here in Congress, and a fringe Congresswoman seems to be the only one publicly talking about it. It is so refreshing to hear a man say that the hard-won rights of women are being eliminated, right here, we see it, it's happening, it's actually a real thing, so WTF is wrong with you all!? Simon Evans said it well, though I'm paraphrasing here: "Nothing the right has said has pulled me more right, I've only been pushed that way by ridiculousness from the left." I'm so glad you shared this! How refreshing.

Allowing male-bodied "women" into female toilets defeats the purpose of sex segregated and women's protect spaces. What do you think of the stats surrounding violence and domestic abuse? Did you know the rates have been going up for women who are abusers at a similar rate there are now self-identifying transwomen? Strange, huh? Did you know that under this data, transwomen are counted as women.

I'm a terf btw in case you want to throw that at me brah. I am a feminist, I believe in equality between the sexes. If people want to self identify as whatever, I'm fine with that. But when you start invading sex segregated spaces or co-opting language I'm going to tell you to **** off brah. We're at a point where saying "woman" to refer to a female is "triggering" to transwomen. I say if that triggers you so badly then you need therapy because the world, my neighbor and his little pissant dog isn't going to recognize you as a female if you have a male body. Female bodies and male bodies shoudn't play sports together because there are biological differences. There should be segregated spaces between the sexes because males are demonstrably more dangerous to female bodies.

Also a swerf. It's mostly done out of necessity. Remove the monetary element and women wouldn't do it. Provide more of a social safety net and more job opportunity and there are less prostitutes, and the ones that are there are mostly foreign or trafficked women (see Amsterdam, Berlin etc etc). Weird how that works, huh?
