Pretty amazing turnaround today. 3 of my 4 largest holdings are mutual funds, so I won't know the final tally til they update later. But was sure nice to end the week on a pick-me-up in many areas.

Going long ZNGA at around avg cost 10. Sold some calls, really like it below $10. Tryna get a large position.

Bought pltr when it was around $10 and got my call assigned, trying to go long again soon. Looking to sell some puts on it, the premiums are so juicy

How do you guys think increased oil prices will affect airlines, cruiselines and large vehicle sales?

Some of these companies are carrying debt and negative cash flow.

I expect increased ticket prices and eventually decreasing volume.

I don't think this is over.

I still see many companies that are undeniable overvalued.

If you missed the low today, don't worry, pretty sure you will get another chance.

I think the stimulus will mark the start of the true run up.

I think we are about to see a bunch chop. Market has been mooning and needs to cool down.

So do the big bois really hate the masses to the point where they would prefer to have a crash to get people away from their territory and scare us away.

What do you guys think based on reverse engineering the establishment
You’re over thinking it too much. The easy money for “the establishment” is scalping the pension funds, etc., not Joe Schmo with his $4k in Robinhood.

Crashes happen all the time. The markets are not actually a casino, nor are they truly rigged. Yes there are certain constructed advantages but that’s life.

So no, there is not some global conspiracy being orchestrated by the disjointed financial institutions keeping the markets from going which direction.

If the 'Rona continues to fade and vaccinations are ramped up like they should be for summer . . . travel is going to freaking explode. People won't care what a ticket costs. They just want to get the hell away to anywhere but where they've been hunkered down.

Just my two cents.

actually this. We had a vegas trip planned the summer of covid and it didn't happen, so we're looking to go ASAP.

EXPE stock might be the play... NCLH... FUN is Cedar Point in Ohio. Only air-line I would touch is Delta because I remember hearing about them having so much money that they gave out $1B in bonuses a few years in a row(before COVID).

They've been calling for next run on commodities for the last few months and I've been shuffling my portfolio to that direction.

1. Lots of those companies pay strong dividends
2. Relatively stable share price
3. Inflation hedge in my portfolio.
4. Stimulus spending in infrastructure goes hand in hand with copper, iron, fuel, etc.

Imperial has done significant cap ex reductions and leaning out. At $60 a barrel we are a cash flow machine right now.....however we are not running at max rates at the refinery and our jet fuel production is ~30% of what it used to be. This tells me this run-up is shaky and will come down.

I'm a bit biased towards them as I work there and have a boatload of shares lol
Will check it out man thanks, I'm constantly reading/watching but don't have any podcasts lined up

You're probably right, the fact that benchmark prices have recovered this much despite travel being so subdued is interesting from a few different angles. I had done some research into refinery operations last year -- margins also hinge on what you're producing out of each barrel of crude right? That's what I recall when the pandemic hit, that refiners were being impacted not just by the lack of overall demand but by the change in product ratios

Definitely been strongly considering rotating some of my funds out of producers and into either pipelines or refining, but the economics seem quite different

I also think there's a huge amount of pent up travel demand that will explode when things open up, and one can only imagine that producers/refiners won't be able to keep up in the short term when it happens

As soon as things are back to "normal" where you don't have to wear a damn mask around everywhere and have to act like everything and everyone is radioactive (plexiglass, social distancing, etc) . . . I know I'm ready to go somewhere. Might be Vegas or someplace with a beach.

We've been just planning to back-end-load all the stuff we haven't done since this nonsense started. Vacations, anniversary & b-day celebrations, nice dinners out, and all that. My wife a few times has said "let's get away for a few days up in the mountains" . . . and there just really isn't a point with all the added pain in the butt. I'd rather just keep things scaled back and we'll let loose when it's more fun and convenient to be able to actually let loose.

That is the obvious play to everyone in the market, there are a lot of "retail investors" now and that is partially the reason why I think it's overvalued, you know they all went too deep.

Like _zman said, the stock prices are already at pre-covid levels, I expect they will rise in the short term and people will feel safe.

I don't think it's a bad play at today's lows but it's risky considering individual state lock downs are still possible.

I think it really depends on disposable income.

I know it's high now but once we are open, I think people will blow through it quick and then they have to deal with increased food and fuel costs.

I think there is still a lot of uncertainty so I took the safe plays with RTX, LMT, WMT, COST, AMZN, KO and a few others, the other half of the portfolio is in mixed oil stocks.

When are they gonna send us the new stimulus check? The dip is nice on NIO right now and I have no money to buy it.

Thinking the NASDAQ will repeat the last couple of weeks pattern next week.

-Surge on Monday since everyone's money's been burning a hole in their pocket all weekend
-Steady 2% day decline T,W,T, as the correction on over-invested tech stocks continues and related panic selling kicks in
-Surge on Friday heading in to the weekend

Best strategy to capitalize on this?

You need to throw in before the stimmy boyo. Every reddit *******'ll be pumping their full check in and things'll go a bit crazy.

Use savings/get a short term loan, set up, pay yourself/bank/your local loan shark back after.

After all the effort they've put into stabilizing the market again, they'll probably be very deliberate in loosening the reins

Our producers are gonna be in great spots even just @ $60 though, especially considering the differential between WTI and WCS seems to be staying at $11ish
I’m holding xom @39 avg so I’ve been loving this run these past couple of months but like you I was originally thinking it was going to be a longer timeframe for this energy recovery.

I’m buy and hold so I’m not selling but it definitely makes me wonder how much more it and the sector can keep going up here in the short term?

Also what are your thoughts on if oil continues to rise will fracking wake back up and flood the market with supply again and stall price increases? Don’t really care just curious.
