Holy fukk I absolutely called RKT, just off in my timing. YIKES. What sucks is premiums were just too much to make it worthwhile. This is going to create a whole new level and round of bag holders.

Was expected.

But didn't think it would be this hard of fall back. They got played hard.

I bet some will say on wsb RKT is cheap so it might go up tmmrw again a bit.

Than go back to $25 where it belongs.

Didn't get into Walmart, market is acting as shiit right now.

Feel like Friday is better entry day as I can get closer to ITM April 16 WMT calls. They should be cheaper.

Here's what I am thinking for RKT...

RKT
3/5
BTO $30c
STO$31c
Looking to enter at $.10
Max potential return is 900%
http://opcalc.com/qBg

Looking at 50, so max loss $500, but max return $4500

I was scrubbing bit of wsb and tons of loss posts on RKT. As usual some bought basically on top around $40 and bought idiotic calls that are getting iv crushed.

Will they bite and go in again.

Volume is gonna be key tmmrw on RKT.

There is rumbling that GME is looking primed for another push tmmrw. Volume super low and its holding $123.

If GME goes up, wsb will quickly lose interest in RKT.

I feel like at this point only way to game wsb is to be 1-2 days ahead of them.

Get out before peak, than get puts when its peaking.

Today they were shoveling another mortage company UWMC. They move fast.

Yesterday it was

1. RKT
2. GME
3. PLTR

Last 12 hours

1. GME
2. UWMC
3. RKT

Good info. What's hilarious is that I posted about a UWMC play a couple weeks ago, but it turned very ugly and I got out with like a $100 profit. Had I just sucked it up and held, it would be gearing towards a $20k play lol. Well, maybe. the final expiry was 3/19 so lots could happen during that time.

hmmmm, I can still see a RKT pump to $30 by Friday if for nothing else the dividend record date and fomo. Maybe I will just set my order really low, like $.07 and see if it gets filled.

I haven't followed AMC enough to know what to look for, but the 9/10 vertical call is pretty attractive for 3/5. max potential is 567%. But looking at the charts, it's only breached $10 a couple times, so maybe not. an 8/9 vertical would be 88% return...

UNFI might be a good buy:https://www.reddit.com/r/wallstreetb...e_moon_dd_and/

Earnings during covid has allowed them to make an additional 30% in revenue. Pandemic earnings in a few days, good short interest at 22%. If it doesnt blow up before earnings, then im holding. If it goes up too much before earnings then im selling my calls.

That's what I am leaning towards. Maybe some will see tmmrw as this is good value at $28.

Will have it running in background tmmrw, in case it starts to run will jump in on $34 or 36C.

Usually volume on these pump and dumps is right on open first hour or so heavy volume.

Nothing from 11 to 1:30PM.

Than it picks up till close.

...........

I ain't touching AMC, basically hertz 2.0

Usehttps://www.optionsprofitcalculator.com/

No clue what your premium was nor expiration, but the key thing to start at is the intrinsic value/cost of the option. I just pulled up PLTR 3/12 $25c with a $.78 premium. That means for me to even break even at expiry, it would have to close at $25.78. The profit comes from two areas:
Intrinsic: The delta between the strike+premium and actual price
Extrinsic: This is a combination of the Greeks but most important things are theta (time left) and implied volatility. These will work like a booster for the intrinsic, because there is time for it go higher, and there is volatility so a swing higher could be more likely.

Now theta is the destroyer of options worlds, because as it gets closer to expiration, the theta value decreases exponentially daily.

I was watching 34C 3/05 very closely.

Opens at $0.96 within 1 minute it was $2.

Than just starts to bleed hard. Now at $0.1

Huge fake out.

Unreal how hard its getting killed.

Is this really heading toward $21 again lmao

literally didn't know this thread existed until today

had an options problem the other day where i sold covered calls in a stock i owned.
stock rallied and was about to hit strike - and i didn't want to sell

had to buy the calls back at a significant loss - so then sold more of them for the next month out at a higher strike (i wouldn't mind selling at) i still made a loss overall but only a slight one. point is i made no profit - and am basically obliged to keep the shares now, otherwise it becomes real risky. and i get paid nothing for it.

i could have sold the calls even further out, and made profit - but i didn't want the pressure of holding the shares that long

lesson learned: if you're gonna sell covered calls make sure the strike is where you'd be happy to sell at

To exercise a call prior to expiration, you will have to contact a rep at TDA.

If youbought a call that its OTM at expiration, it will just disappear into the abyss. No action required. If it expires ITM, you will be assigned unless you close your position.

Yup. Or, if you have the capital, setup a strangle that would result in you getting assigned shares through a CSP with a cost basis that would be around the CC strike. If that doesn't make sense, see below
Spoiler!

Stock ABC is trading for $75, you sell a CC for $100
ABC is now at $110.
A CSP has a $15 premium for $120 strike of the same expiry, so your CB would be $105
Best case scenario, ABC closes at $119.99, and your original shares are protected - You get assigned on the $120csp, but it gets called away due to the $110cc, and you get the difference of your cost basis and the strike AND the original CC premium

Source: Me when I had calls I didn't think would go ITM but very quickly did. It can be a risky play, as in if the stock comes way back down AH or something, you are getting assigned more shares lol.

Give me the details on your current setup, and I will show you what youcoulddo with that example.

I'm not positive on how it will display on your overall account value, but itshouldstay the same as what it is now, but what will change is:

Call is removed from your account
Shares added to your account at the strike price, but now reflecting +50% green (Based on your figures)
Cost of shares deducted from your cash/margin balance

One thing to remember, and this is really important for people writing options, that when the bell rings, that is NOT the end of everything. You have until the close of AH for things to finally settle. So let's say you sold a CC for a $100 strike, and the bell rings and it's at $95. You are not in the clear just yet. All that chit that happens after hours will still be in play, so if some reason there is a run up to $101 and it closes the AH session as such, your shares are called away.

Been making easy money off gme every week. Buy the cheapest calls at the beginning of the week (800c) and whenever there's a huge spike the volatility will cause the option to soar even if it's no where near the strike price

Alright, new strategy time... I lost a lot of money, and am pissed, but motivated even more so.

First, got assigned on TSLA csp’s on Friday. While my CB is actually decent, I am still very red. So what now? I am writing covered calls at my original strike, every week, but in advance, for the next 4 weeks. So essentially a good portion will be naked calls. If I end up getting the shares called away before the next set of calls come up, I will do what I mentioned just a few posts ago about managing sold calls with aggressive csps. After a month, I will reassess the state of $TSLA and determine if I want to go super aggressive with covered calls, or just keep keep using what I have and with my original strikes as my reference point. At current pricing, if I get my STO calls filled on Monday, I will be able to generate ~6k/month in premiums.

Second, I spoke about this in the recent past, but I am going to work on covered strangles on positions I would legit like to hold, not the thetagang standard “stocks you wouldn’t mind holding.” Since I need diversification, I have a very wonky list of stocks I am eying, but the only problem is the premiums are trash. So this will be a fukkin grind, but the idea is to not only generate revenue through premium farming, but also have potential gains from the stock rising and getting called away (I also have to be ok with losing the stock). Example of strategy with a stock I will probably do this with:

DHI
Purchase shares at $79
3/12
STO$80p @ $2.16
STO$80c @ $1.23
Break even is $76.61/$83.39, or:
Get assigned and increase position and wheel more aggressively, or get shares called away with an effective $4.39/share gain or 5.5%.

any ideas what strategies i can use to generate income atm?

when stocks were low i was in favour of using CSPs to make premium and potentially get assigned on stocks i actually wanted to own anyway

now a lot of stocks hit by covid have recovered
the prices which one seemed appealing to me to sell puts at is long gone, so the premium those strikes are now giving me isn't worth it for the money i have to put up

i only have one stock atm in my portfolio which im selling covered calls on.
i have a good amount cash in my account to use for covered strategies.

any ideas?

Makes me so fuking mad getting front run.

FTOC 12.5 calls have been 0.35 bid and .40 ask all fukking day. Had a sell order at .40 and I wanted it gone so I looked at orders. the spread had 82x232 contracts sitting there. I swapped to 0.35 to sell instantly and magically either someone decided before my order went through they either didn't want the contracts and adjusted down OR someone sold 80 contracts before I could. Magically the SECOND I lowered my sell point it drops to .30 and 0.35 volume 10x51. Makes ZERO sense. One minute there was 80 opening bids then the second I tried to sell at that price they magically disappeared.

I am tempted to try and sell at 0.3 and see if it happens again, but I don't actually want to sell at that price.
