Yea it's bad nowadays. A buddy of mine told me a horror story. He's a typical manly guy, worked his family business, worked as pit crew for a team just under NASCAR, mechanic but also got his masters in data science I believe. He finally got a job at an office and found out it was predominately women as well as his boss. He was basically forced to quit after 36 days. The stories he told me were the craziest chit I've ever heard. Everyday they tried to break him and whip him into being a beta peasant. He was good at his job and very quick, and they would tell him he's an idiot for putting the page numbering in the wrong corner. He followed one of the ladies to a meeting with a big client, and she tried to lose him on the expressway on the way their in her little Porsche. Said she was pissed he kept up. He got reamed for being on time to another client meeting while one of his female bosses ran 20 min late, and he started the meeting with the guy and went over things while waiting for her. He said a coworker screamed at him because he was doing small tasks due at the end of the week after he finished his work for the day trying to get ahead. She kept yelling "YOU CAN'T DO THIS! YOU HAVE TO DO THIS!" It made zero sense he said and he literally thought he was in the twilight zone. She was throwing a tantrum.

The stuff his main boss did to him was some of the most insane chit I have ever heard in an office.

They hated him because he was a man and good at his job. They even got mad for being direct and cordial in emails, and didn't speak like a ******* corporate loser. They said he came off aggressive when he said "Okay thanks I'll finish that now. Do you have xyz finished for me? If not, send it when you are finished and I will input blah blah blah. Thanks!" They literally made him have a meeting over that.

It is getting wild out there. They will try to break you if you are a masculine man.

This was my experience as well, but I was in a more administrative role. I hear that as you move into more technical positions, there are a lot fewer women. And the ones that are there aren’t as petty.

It’s funny, I was talking to a woman who was familiar with what I did for a living and without me ever mentioning it she goes “how do you deal with being around all those petty, gossiping women?”

They definitely exist, but the larger the institution the more pc and “risk adverse” it gets and even off color jokes (and I mean mild stuff) gets you potentially fired. It’s just a very graining environment.
