Should I get the ps5

If I already own the ps4.

I feel like I’m playing the same game and won’t notice any difference

Is it worth it right now or should I wait a year?
I don't check my CP, IDC about reps/negs

I'm happy I got it but not 100% worth the hassle. It was so hard to get just to mainly play Warzone lol. It boots fast and loads insanely quick but thats all I really get out of it. Since I really only play warzone right now it does look better than my PS4 did but not by much.

I dont play adventure games and couldn't care less about Spiderman. So until they release a bunch of new next gen games this holiday season I pretty much bought a PS5 and new OLED to play warzone

Tldr: id say wait unless your ps4 is ****ting the bed

I would just wait unless you're that eager to play Demon's Souls. After I beat Demon's Souls, my PS5 is barely turned on now and is collecting dust. I don't get why everyone really wants one. As someone on top said, wait for better games to be released.

Unless there is a PS5 only game you want to play, it may not be a bad idea to wait. I just got one and I love it, but I'm still just playing PS4 games on it basically (got free "PS5" version of WDL, but honestly not much different than PS4).

If you won't notice the difference in quality I don't see the point of ever getting it, at least until there is a PS5 only game that is a must have for you.

I have so many free games from PS+ monthly games that it would have been a waste not to get one.

I prefer my XSeX tho because of the insane backwards compatibility. Ironic that I play old 360 games on this chit

Where da fuk are all the new games Sony & Microsoft? Lazy fuks. I wouldn't recommend either console until good new generation games get released

Not sheriff srs OP... I've been casually/semi-srs following a stockdrop bot w/ alerts on my phone and I've come close a couple of times but haven't been able to buy one. Whether you want to buy one or not is kind of irrelevant right now until you can actually do so without paying a ~$300-$400 premium to a scalper.

if you gotta waste your time and effort following a bunch of twitter accounts and discord drops, etc... no its not worth it

i would just wait til some games you really want to play come out.. right now the ps5 is just a ps4 game upscaler.


I have a ps5 collecting dust cause waiting for the new games. I play multiplayer games on the PC and ps5 is mainly for my single player game experiences. Your experience will vary as for some people, the console is their only gaming rig then maybe it would be worth it to you.

I’ve resold about 10 of them so I pocketed about a grand plus kept one for myself


Pretty unimpressed. The new controller is alright, but kind of gimmicky. Mine is loud as fuk when there’s a disc in the drive. If I could go back I’d have sold this one too and waited until they were just sitting on the shelf

Honestly, got one 6 weeks ago and am totally MEH about it.

Pros

Quick loading is awesome
Controller feels nicer in my hands than ps4 version
Already had PS4 games with a free upgrade

Cons

Still pretty much playing what my mates are playing, and only 4/9 of us have a PS5, so still just WZ etc.
Killer games are still a long way off
Could have invested the money in something
It's massive, and in white is an eyesore in my black media tower - would buy a black one if it came out.

I am a big fan of Playstation exclusives and think a PlayStation is a must have because of them but if WZ is your main jam why didn't you get. Series X?

I think I like Nintendo more. .. as a company. Wtf Is Sony struggling to sell it’s good loyal customers a Ps5. Meanwhile enough Switch consoles for Nintendo’s fan base. Switch has been killing it, spoiling us even.

I have a Ps5 but took me a long time to get one. The shortage of units is inexcusable IMO and quite frankly it is pathetic.

I’m talking about Microsoft too.

pretty much agree with everything here....like i said in my above post, unless your PS4 is ****ting the bed or you dont have any console....sure go ahead and buy one. But waiting until the holiday season, when there are hopefully more next gen games available and you don't have to rely on twitter stock accounts to have any decent chance of scoring one through these incredibly ****ty retail drops, isn't a bad idea. (you're really not missing out on anything right now except for being able to say you have one)

I'm a big Gran Turismo fan, and was really psyched to get that in July or whenever the original release was. Naturally being a Gran Turismo game it's been delayed for the best part of a year. Used to have a 360, but Forza just wasn't my thing.

Warzone is my online multi game, and I currently have 9 or 10 PlayStation mates, and the Xbox mates. Easy call to go Ps5, and I got one by chance.

I was actually about to pre-order a PS5 until they failed to announce a release date when they announced the launch game dates. I was there when the pre-orders dropped and I easily could have ordered one but I decided not to since GT7 is literally the only game that grabbed my interest and I figured it would be a long time until it releases. I got no regrets, glad I didn't mess around with the launch consoles, no point in rushing into it when there is no games that interest me. A series X would have been a better choice for me as I could play the enhanced versions of a lot of games I already got but since I already have a One X it just didn't seem like something worth rushing into either.

Honestly so far this next gen has been mediocre as phuck and very slow to roll out anything I could call system sellers.

I wouldn't not get one if you want one because of comments here. I have the Series X and honestly it doesn't give me an advantage in Cold War since everything is running on last gen stuff. Sure it looks better and is faster, but I don't get that full next gen feel like I should.

I'd wait on getting the PS5 at the moment. Unless it was part of the original drop, I don't trust these current batches of consoles. PS5 was shipping consoles with different fans and was caught. The review models would have a really nice fan, and then when the retail version was opened, it had a lesser quality fan in it. You really also don't need it right now because no good exclusive game is out.

Higher frames doesn’t really help if ur monitor tv can’t display more than 60 FPS anyways and if u have to wait for other players fast load times is uslesss as well

im not because I have a huge backlog of games on PS4 and Switch I bought and barely played so id feel like I'm just wasting money and wont use it
