Such bullchit.

I didn't go to a state college and missed out on some amazing times because I refused to take out loans at the age of 18 and now the govt that I pay taxes to is going forgive the idiots who YOLOd it without a second thought?

My lil sis has 100K in student load debt but she's a nurse so with 2 degrees to show for it so she'll pay it off in due time. I don't think she's entitled to $50K free money either.

This is why I’ve been holding off on making payments. Never know when it’s going to magically disappear but student loans interest rates are ridiculous

Pretty sure they are trying to destroy the economy for their fabian socialist IMF/World Bank handlers so that the handlers can usher in their global currency that they've been planning since 1944. There's no proof of it but I bet 10 years from now you'll be seeing Democrats saying "See that economic system doesn't work we need a global currency that is digital" they will try to track everything and use eminent domain to try to take people's private property forcefully with their protesters advocAting for mandatory private property buyback at discount prices just like they are advocating for mandatory gun buybacks. The thing is it looks like it's inching towards that but here is no definitive proof and you will just be called a conspiracy theorist while they are doing it and living standard is to high for people to rebel on speculation.

Stephen Hawkins may have been disabled - but he was a well-off professor and scientist.

Having to provide evidence of your wealth matters in this sort of targeted relief.

Effectively charity for the blind/disabled is a good thing - but not when those same people are also millionaires.

I don't have a problem with the govt doing something about the interest rates/taxes on these loans but the principal amount should not be forgiven at all

The issue isn't so much is 'charity' bad - it is more that - can we correct these illnesses through technology? If we can, why aren't you fixing your disability and if we can - are you still going to request a hand out?

I don't like targeted charity when there is no basis beyond lip service. Biden's government needs to acquire evidence of wealth in these targeted cases and basis for why they deserve this charity from everyone else. It is one thing to give your own money to a 'go fund me' it is another thing to demand my tax payments go to these cases.

well OP scared me but you realize how extremely close they are to passing this? What do you think happens within the next 10 years? They'' pass it 4 or 8 years from now when the bill is even higher and more interest has accumulated
