Ey Venom- if T-yields are going up doesn't that cause bonds to lose value? I keep hearing that yield spikes are pushing stocks down, but shouldn't it force bond holders to panic sell before the value of their underlying bond goes down and wouldn't they want to avoid buying any if the future expectation is yield will continue to climb?

I am big on name recognition and when someone mentions music app people will always mention spotify..... I am curious how companies like Apple, Amazon, Pandora, etc. will cut into their business model.

The comparable IMO would be Netflix still going strong against Amazon Prime, Disney+, Peacock, etc.

Are there any beat down stocks you guys are eyeing right now?

If you guys bought COST for a short term hold at ~314 what would be your exit point? I'm thinking 365-370. It hit 365 today but I didn't sell it.

I bought WMT at ~127 and sold at ~140 after collecting the dividend on the 5th. I expect WMT to get to about 145-150 before coming back down. What would your exit point have been for WMT?

Yeah, like interest rates have nowhere to go but up. I don't know why anyone would hold bonds since they'll decline. It's always lulzy to me when I hear people saying that if rates rise then stocks will crash, when that's never happened. Stocks rise and rates rise, bonds decline.

I'm sort of surprised Spotify has remained in control of their market share. They've added a lot of podcasts, which Apple Music has (if I'm not mistaken, never used it), they have the family plan which gets more people on board, each person makes tons of playlists and I personally don't ever want to lose them so they probably have me for life. Now they're going to add lossless music to their library, which most people won't care about, but the artists and audiophiles will. Curious where they will go from here.

Although their business model can be copied, they retain market share. I like using them, but won't be buying their stock.

DCA on ford is 11.50

Its a long hold and I think with all the EV chit etc its going to keep inching its way higher. Their dividend may come back too once they get everything in order cuz last year was a chitshow for them they can't possibly do worse than that

My concern for them is their build costs due to unionized labor that built crazy pensions into the contracts Ford doles out. That, and their teams that do the research/engineering aren't working themselves to death the way Tesla and other EV competitors are. Seems like companies that treat workers well get screwed these days.

Intradaztingg, can't comment on that but I'm sure they'll be able to fix whatever issues are going on with overhead/margins because their new earnings reports are looking good.

IMO they have made mistakes and they were late to the EV game, but now they're finally turning things around and beat EPS last quarter. Apparently their mustang mach E is the biggest competitor to the TSLA model Y and taking market share from US/China sales etc. I have yet to see this mustang so I'm not really totally believing what I've read yet. All I see on the road here are Tesla's still. But I know its going to get crazy with more and more different EV brands on the road and Ford is absolutely going to be one of the main competitors.

They also introduced the new Bronco and have the EV F-150. So they're doing allot now finally.... probably because they knew the fuked up being so late to the game (similar to DIS not starting a streaming service for the longest time, idiots).

Here's something I found cool:
Google Partnership Lifts Ford Stock

Ford stock gained 2.9% on Feb. 1 after CEO James Farley announced the 117-year old automaker is partnering with tech giant Google. The Michigan-based carmaker and Alphabet-owned company will form a new collaborative group called Team Upshift.

"We're going to leverage the talent and assets of both companies to push the boundaries of Ford's transformation," Ford Motor wrote in a company blog post. "This may include projects ranging from modernizing our plants through vision AI, developing new retail experiences when buying a vehicle, creating new ownership offers based on connected vehicle data, and more."

In addition to the joint venture, the deal will make Google the preferred cloud service for the Detroit automaker.
Edit- And at this moment with all the info I've gathered I would never have F be a large percentage of my portfolio because I see allot better plays out there with more growth potential. Its not a big "money maker" imo but more of a slow, steady, safe long hold

Elephant in the room is the chip shortage? How will that not impact Ford's botton line? If all these automakers are slowing production and/or shutting plants, where is the growth? Will the stocks react positively if they compensate by raising prices despite lower sales volume?
I'm #12 in Y2J's "club"...and I'm scared.

This week on The Buff and the Beautiful: Colleen comes up with a new scheme to win over Carlos. But first she has to gain the trust of her captor.

Very good point / question and I would like to know this as well. But the chip shortage is impacting all EV companies no? Someone spoon feed me info please.

Edit- lol AAPL now not able to produce their products because of the chip shortage.....This was reported 10 seconds ago

Edit-
Consulting firm AlixPartners estimates the chip shortage will cut $60.6 billion in revenue from the global automotive industry this year. The problem is impacting every automaker differently.

Yes TSLA and F are hardly comparable and both very different companies

We all know TSLA is much much more than a vehicle manufacturer and I agree its like the AAPL of vehicles....It did already go to the moon so its headed to mars now if this phuckery keeps up

Most manufacturers have idled plants for 1-2 weeks thus far which shouldn't hurt too bad... but any more than that and it'll start becoming very painful to bottom lines.
