Tesla definitely seems to need brushing up on their handling of the Chinese market. Elon doesn’t seem to have a lot of respect for authorities over here in the West but that won’t fly in China

Like after the crash in Texas, tweeting out that preliminary data showed Autopilot wasn’t active while the authorities had heard nothing so far. Imagine doing that in mainland China where the state news was already calling them out for “arrogance” over their handling of that protester claiming brake failure at the recent auto show.

Imho China CCP is dangerous as hell to any foreign company. Whats to say they haven't stolen Tesla IP and reversed engineered to help NIO (their own brand) succeed.

Wasn’t it confirmed there was theft on chinas part from Tesla? and if so that’s what we know about. They do not innovate over there it doesn’t seem much at all, just make a better mouse trap.(occasionally)

As appealing as Nio stock is, it’s hard to get myself to buy it even though I know it would be a good investment I just don’t want to support that company. So been swing trading it constantly.

Sure, so I don’t lead 2,000 people, this must be some misreading.

I have a pension, I own a business with a 7 figure valuation based on EBITDA multiple, I have multi-unit properties, and other ventures where my investment is already made, no additional capital required and it’s a 12-36 month run for them to become profitable (gas station, glass/smoke shop, commercial farming operation)

Tbh my main business partner asked me why I still keep my 9-5. (Pension, healthcare, I like it, consulting opportunities to retire on 10 hours of work a week)

My IRA is really a misnomer, it isn’t my retirement, it’s a tax advantaged account that I’ve placed money into.

This is why investments should always be taken in perspective. Risk management is actually likely my best skill. On the Palantir calls I lost maybe .05% of my net worth and it was a gamble that had maybe a 2% chance at being a $50k+ play. It would have provided significant liquidity which matters no matter what your net worth.

And bro on delayed gratification, I lived off brown rice, beans, and a multivitamin for about 5 years in my 20’s to build the capital for my first business venture and to support it. You don’t want this struggle.

On another note, I think we’re going to see a tremendous comeuppance when the tax man gets his chit in order. Girls with only fans, PPP, crypto, etc. Those homies and gym bunnies showing up with the new G-wagon at the gym? They gonna be shilling Mary Kay and nutrisystem before too long, if they aren’t in jail.

Also on diversification. My argument would be the markets are so fukked right now that there is almost no diversification outside of Beta. I think once the meme hype and all that recent garbage falls away, that Palantir will have appreciation disconnected from the markets. It goes back to Thiel’s argument about tech stocks not being a bubble and actually being the hedge against stock market bubbles. If markets truly chit the bed over the next 20 +years I could see my pension reduced (80% chance) or even disappear (.0001% chance but it exists).

By investing solely in an equity I believe completely disconnected from general market activity isn’t that the best diversification against doomsday’s scenarios where I never receive a pension?

And I don’t bank on a pension or equities for my retirement, but they are part of broader diversification, each with its own risks. If someone thinks owning a bunch of different US equities is diversification? I have some terrible, terrible news for you.

I have never done options but I wouldn't mind to get my feet wet with a few calls 2-4 weeks down the road

last week I was a click away to put 2 contracts on amc at 10 but decided againt it at the last moment
