hnng, what kind of costs are associated with owning an RV? Is it as simple as buying it, keeping it maintained/cleaned/stocked with fuel + generators and leaving it until you want to use it?

Since it is a 5th wheel tow behind I don't have the maintenance costs of an actual RV with a powertrain. I keep it clean, winterize it before putting it in cold storage for winter, then do a spring once over. Main expenses are registration/inspection and insurance. Full coverage on it is like $50 per month. I don't generally run generators with it as we are normally camping where we have water/power/sewer hookups. But I have two 3500 watt inverter generators with a parallel kit so both can run the camper with both AC units going full bore for about 12 hours on about 4 gallons of gas.

Its my kind of camping...

Also, never buy a new camper. They depreciate so fast you will never be out in front of the loan.

Case in point. Mine is a 2015 model. Was $80k new. I bought it from the guy that bought it new. He used it for one and a half seasons. I paid him $29k cash for it in 2017. Insurance set the value for a total loss payout at $39k.

I see a lot of people have some nice cars, so question to y'all.. As someone who has something very practical right now (Ford Fusion) but looking to upgrade within the next year or so to a Mercedes AMG... Was it worth it?

Depends, I was just fine driving my basic DD sedan (Mazda 3) went with a truck because we no longer have a van so we wanted something with some hauling capability. Unless you're into car groups and vehicle-based social outings it doesn't matter.

You'll be like dang this Merc is nice and then realize it does the exact same thing your fusion did outside of some luxuries and just be kind of meh eventually. Generally speaking new cars are like marriages they have their honeymoon periods.

If you just want a change and the Merc isn't obscenely more than you should spend on a car with your income go for it but don't expect anything in your life to change because of it.

I had an AMG GLK, Had electrical issues from the moment I got it, I Foolishly got into a Range Rover, I traded electrical issues for transmission issues.

Stay the fcuk away from these brands unless you want to be driving a vehicle lent to you by the dealership more than the vehicle you purchased.

Are you asking? I drive 2019 Honda Civic coupe so I can tell you this. The interior is really good in terms of being quiet and the seats are comfortable. Don't buy one with a CVT transmission. They're boring to drive and you'll realize it a few months after driving one with it.

If you buy the hatchback I'll neg you into eternity. Honestly I find the hatchback one of the ugliest cars on the road period.
