To give us a back story. He was a good guy until his G/F died and CO tried to kill him. And to set up the call.

My favorite character this season was Amanda. Yasmine looks like a younger version woman I dated last year. HNNNNNG.

Least favorite is Old Kreese and Tory.
Season 2 felt by far the weakest to me.

Missed Stingray not gonna lie

But yeah this is basically the Karate Kid version of Mandalorian... but potentially is better in terms of what it does to the original

My daughter, her friend said Miguel is so cute, cuter than Robby. She talked about it like you’d think it was a Degrassi High type tv show.

3 is objectively a terrible movie. The lovestory ends with Daniel friendzoned (lol).
Kreese and Silver's scheme to train Daniel half to death is absolutely stupid, hinges on Miyagi and Daniel getting into a fight and Mijagi being opposed to tournaments.

The only saving grace of that movie is Silver's aboslutely hilarious acting and over the top character.

At the time I thought there was zero saving Grace. Not even the love interest in this one (actress who played In “Teen Witch” which they couldn’t even Top That, pun intended).

I thought Daniel should not have looked like such a beta pussy in it but I think the scene where Daniel reflects on that moment to Sam kind of redeemed his character.

Still everyone watching would’ve liked to see Daniel land more than just a single non lethal hit.

Barnes had egged him on and bullied him throughout the movie. And that was the payoff ? Most fans wanted him to lose royally.

Movie was all Barnes using him as a punching bag.

Shouldn’t the bad guy always get there’s not irl but yunno in movies lol!!

Kids show really? The fights are cheesy as fuk but the humor, the constant battle of what is wright or wrong (no black or white), the bullying issues (hits your hard if you are a father), the 80s nostalgia, Amanda LaRusso (hnnngg)...

Not shure they would've been able to pull that off well. They never cast any real martial artists (Terry Silver is the only one of the cast, who can fight) and instead went for guys with acting talent. The choreography always looked rather horrible. (Compare it to the no-plot/no-acting, but great action clone No Retreat, No Surrender.)
So that comeback might have ended up looking more awkward than the fight already did.

First season had me hooked

2nd was alright

3rd was dog chit. These long cringey fight scenes are pretty lame and it seemed like a kid show. 14 year old high school drama crap

Them trying to ban a karate tournament because of some kids getting into fight is the most unrealistic part. Does a city council ban wrestling when some kids on the wrestling team get into a fight and get injured?

Strong this. Third season was a massive let down. I still watched them all and I'll watch S4, but 1 was one of the most fun series I've ever watched.

Can't wait for season 4!! I thought season 3 was the best so far! Do you guys think Mike Barnes will be in the next season? He was by far the baddest of Daniel's 3 foes.

yeah, 3 felt more like a made for tv movie. Terry Silver is a legend though and I'm glad he's going to be in Cobra Kai. Hopefully Barnes makes an appearance too.

It's fuking amazing. Solid writing, solid acting, solid tension, solid characters, solid main character, solid technical knowledge on chess, SOLID story. It's a drama show so if you want humor or action, that ain't happening. Definitely a show that would take you on a journey though.

Great first season.

can confirm queen's gambit is GOOD. I am not a chess enthusiast. I get the rules and how each piece moves and that's it and I enjoyed the show. I watched it in a week.
