With the history behind us, I honestly would've expected culture to plateau/stop completely when 2011 hit, as that is the best things can get. But it didn't for some reason.

Yeah totally and as u mentioned, there were solid things to define each time period. Not to mention that those things were hardcore/epic as ****.

The comment on hair colours. In 2009, people with coloured hair actually looked pretty sick. Like, those people with their spiky or streak colour hair looked in the mirror and tried to sculpt it to perfection. Paired with that would be a ****ing model/decent body. Not a fat lard.

In 2021, people colouring hair are just trying act different and act extroverted, not to mention that is just looks so gay!! Especially paired with their attitude/physique/intentions/clothes/lives.

But now what is there? I can't think of any cultures besides the same hood rap or country culture that has existed for the last 30 years but even the country culture is dying off. If you go to a gym 99% of the people there don't even look like they lift. People used to be scared to enter a gym back in the day because you had to be strong or look like you lifted or you wouldn't fit in lol. If you stayed there you were either going to get bigger//stronger or quit in a few months. It's weird man.

Traditional Youth cultures died out.
I think the biggest factor is the internet. It's hard for a subculture to grow in a traditional way. Scenes do not grow in a closed microcosm in a specific city. There is no way for such a community to grow locally without it either catching on way to fast or getting utterly riddiculed and dieing out early. If it is positively received, it will also be picked up by designers integrated into mainstream fashion way too fast.
There are also way less strict parents, so kids have no real reason to rebel against their parents.

The few subcultures that were big in the 2010s are all structurally different from traditional ones: Hipsters ("It's all ironic, I actually kinda hate that stuff and my subculture"), subcultures like cosplayers, who mostly meet and organize online or political movements like "Fridays for Future".
The subcultures that stayed are stuff like gangs, where people have a stronger need, than just identification to be there.

Yeah totally. I remember when I went to pick up my brother from the gym about 11 years ago, all the guys there were designed like typical gym guys. High school jocks x10. I couldn't wait to start cos I thought I'd turn into that in years to come.

Fast forward to now and I'm beyond disappointed. Nothing wrong with weeds or fatsos training, but the whole image is off. The gay radio music paired with people attending gym for social media and stuff. Even if they are 6"5 110kg, it still looks far too gay, nothing like 2010.

Yeah I've heard, the lifeguards and stuff. They all lived that life long before 2000 from what I've heard.

Same here, never watched it, but wanted their design lol. It was just an epic scene. Realistically, for a guy, you can't really beat being ripped with a sick hairstyle.

Today's fashion is gay as ****. Skinny jeans showing ankles, what ***tard thinks that's a design for a guy.

Yeah, Internet and phones ruined it all. Ease of access to the amount of trash online is unreal. Spoilt peoples minds completely.

In 2010 when most people had house computers and sucky nokias/blackberrys. Honestly the perfect balance. Phones have their uses, but not documenting your life 24/7, scrolling mindlessly wasting your life everyday.

Retarded scene for modern parents. Can't watch 12 rated films, but has a £1000 phone.

In my house in 2009, my parents had all kinds of parental controls on my computer, so I really didn't go on anything inappropriate until like 15 lol. Different world, and in all aspects, the 2009 way is the way to go.

for one why do you take notice of anybody in the gym except for yourself unless you are waiting for a bench or machine to become open,.

who gives a **** what someone else is wearing or doing. the minute you walk through the doors your mind should just be focused on YOU and kicking your own azz and overcoming t,reaching and surpassing the goals you made before you walked in

when I would see people leave the gym with a dry shirt on is the only thing id ever notice about someone else cause if you arent leaving soaking wet from sweat then you might as well just stayed home cause you sure as hell didnt get a workout in
