Didn't read the entire thing so maybe they explain it better, but I was curious about this too. Probably she cut him off, he honked, she flipped him off, and then he shot at her. Otherwise he'd have had to shoot backwards which wouldn't have hit the trunk or he'd have had to intentionally change lanes, get behind her, and then shoot. I don't see why you'd shoot the car in front of you and not expect to crash into it, but who knows. Hopefully with other cameras/vehicles and gps tracking on the phones they can recreate what occurred, because I had the same questions as you once they said it was to the rear. At first I thought he just sprayed random backwards out his window. Either way, burn him alive.
