Video says he is claiming self defense. I mean...I don't really care that he KO'd the dude, but kind of funny he considers that self defense.

At first I thought he pushed the guy hard out of the way, but he actually just did what most of us would do at a guy not looking. And while he was walking, the guy started mouthing off to him. That's where Joe will claim the guy made threats at him and turned around because he was concerned about his safety. And when the drunk guy squared up and made a move towards Joe, that's where Joe will claim he had no choice but to defend himself.

The issue here is that Joe is an idiot for posting that message on social media.

No, what I mean is, by looking at the footage, the guy run into him and Joe just braces him and then puts him aside. When I first looked at the footage, I thought he just straight up shoved the guy. But it doesn't look that way. And then when he walks, the guy mouths off to him. I'm not saying I would do what Joe did. I'm saying this is what Joe is going to claim in his defense.

When the guy mouths off to him, Joe is gonna claim he wasn't sure what the guy said, but perceived it to be threatening enough that he had to address the issue just in case he got hit in the back of the head. And he's gonna claim the reason he goes up to the guy is because he wanted to make sure of what the guy was saying. And during that exchange, that's where you see the guy feint a move towards Joe. That gives Joe all the incentive he needs to claim self defense since it was the drunk guy that threatened him. And then made the first threatening move.

Whether a judge buys that, I have no idea. But that's what Joe and his lawyer is going to claim. Again read my original post. I'm not saying Joe is in the right here. Just that this is what I see in the video and how they're gonna play it.

But like I said, Joe posting that message on social media was going full retard.

The guy did not run into Joe. Yes, he is moving but his back is turned toward the aggressor. He is actually in front of him rather than bumping into his side as he happens to pass. He can't see who is behind him. The aggressor can see who is in front of him and that a drunk man is staggering onto his path. He chooses to maintain his course and instigate a confrontation. The drunk guy backs into Joe. Correct. And in response, Joe braces himself and pushes him to the side. And after seeing the video a couple times now, the push wasn't even hard or aggressive. He just redirects him. Am I the only one seeing it this way?

Again, I'm not saying Joe is innocent here on how he handled it, or that he's gonna get away from it. Just saying how he's gonna play it in court. The problem arises when he decides to turn around and because of that a confrontation occurs. But he's gonna claim the things I said in a previous post. And once again, his post on social media was stupid and doesn't help his case.

The victim was clearly unaware and not being considerate but the perp had a clear line of sight and enough time to choose to move over to his left and avoid the inebriated individual staggering into his path or maintain his course. He chose the latter. It was entirely avoidable.

Maybe he did, but none of what I saw in that footage seems egregious on Joe's part when it comes to the initial contact. Like I didn't see it as blatant at all or one that would be 100% clear. I just saw a drunk guy accidentally back into a guy who was walking. And the guy walking braced him and put him aside. Didn't even shove him.

I'm not some Joe fanboy by the way. I used to watch mma and I don't even know who this guy is.
